I honestly can never understand the hate towards Disney. I personally believe that if Disney gets behind something they will pour every resource possible towards it. Countless entertainers line up to work for Disney again and again so they cant be the evil entity some make them out to be. Marvel was failing!.... and miserably I might add. The Disney deal was the best possible thing that could have happened to them. Having people who actually still care about something and take pride in things is never a bad thing. So keep on hating............ but I LOVES me some Disney!

Disney was pretty outspoken about what attracted them to Marvel - they wanted Marvel's IPs and they wanted to diversify into more boy-centric branding. My guess is, that if they made any revisions to the branding guidelines regarding the comic books at Marvel they would be minimal, because it seems like the comic book publishing side of things is low priority.

What made Marvel attractive to Disney was the fact that they had already pulled themselves out of bankrupcy when the buyout occurred. In fact Marvel was not failing, already having a very successful run of movies when the buyout occurred.

When I mentioned Marvel was failing I was talking about the comic side of things, not the movies which were the only thing keeping them above water. I honestly dont think Marvel's financial state mattered to Disney one bit. Disney cares about characters and properties. They have proved that over the years, never more evident then trading Al Michaels for Oswald.

I think at the point Marvel at Disney might be a good thing to. Hope the characters are taken care of.
