Back in the day when the first movie came out it inspired me and my buddies to make a Captain America home movie

I'm not ashamed to admit, ours came out a lot better than theirs

          ^Yes. Yes it is.

Seriously, they were two made for TV movies meant as pilots for a potential Captain America series. Part of Marvel's deal with Universal that also gave us the Hulk and Spider-Man series, and the Dr. Strange TV movies. Supposedly the ratings were actually quite good, but CBS was getting flack for being the "Comic Broadcasting Service" and passed on the series.

Almost 10 years earlier, CBS canceled popular sitcoms The Beverly Hillbillies, Green Acres and Mayberry RFD because some accused CBS of being the "COUNTRY Broadcasting Service". They were really hung up perceptions, huh?

I think I need to see these movies. Thanks for the info! I can't believe I didn't know about them. I usually am the guy who knows all about stuff like this...I must be slipping.
