Reb Brown Captain America is coming to DVD

Amazon.com: Captain America / Captain America II: Death Too Soon: Reb Brown, Connie Sellecca, Christopher Lee, Rod Holcomb: Movies TV

$13.49 for both movies? OMG I am so there. I wonder what cut they'll use for part 2, I used to have both, the TV print and the VHS release version.

Oh and the Salinger movie came out on DVD this week, apparently it's a terrible transfer. The first review reads "The price of a 2011 DVD, the quality of the 1992 LaserDisc"

I have boots of these, but I may have to get the official release too. They are actually better than I remembered. It's not really Captain America from the comics, but Reb Brown's portrayal is so honest you can't help but like the guy.

I agree. The TV movies were fun. Plus just to see him dressed in Cap's outfit in the second film was really a blast. Surprising that the 1991 film got released. Is it just DVD or did they try and push a Blu ray copy as well?

Yes and no. It's one of them forgotten films for sure.... hardly ever mentioned, possibly for quality.... but I can see it getting released just for the name.

The 1991 film should be transferred to flammable nitrate stock. One of the worst hero films of all time. I have to be intoxicated to even sit through a half hour of it. Some of the worst acting and dialogue ever put before the viewing public.

It doesn't look like this will get a UK release, would loved to have watched these.

I've never seen either of them. I'll have to get them though. Too cool...I mean cheesy.

I just noticed that the cover art is retouched to eliminate the transparent nature of Reb's shield. And you can't really tell he's wearing his helmet. Clever, very clever!

I love the second one--what's the diff between the tv & VHS version? (I have the MCA VHS release.)

It's been a while but the TV cut has a Len Birman narrated intro with a recap of the first movie and some different scenes. I think the starting (with the hoods on the beach) is different.

It's been close to a decade since I watched it but I remember liking it better.

As a kid I was really smitten with the "Bionic Noise" Captain America made...

His most astounding feat over both films is when he throws his motorcycle up 3 stories and it lands perfectly upright. That man is a miracle!!!
