I'll be straight down the line on this one.

If they face each other like a Western gunfight duel...meaning...have some distance between them...then yes...Cyclops would blast Wolvie into kingdom come.

But if you let them go at each other in an urban guerilla environment...where they have to find each other...and then go for the kill...Wolverine would absolutely rip poor Cyclops to shreds...this is without question.

So it all depends on the fighting scenario.

Without spoiling Schism... Scott makes a few hard decisions that Logan disagrees with, that Really shows you how far both respective characters have come since the Byrne/Claremont days.

It really plays into existing character traits, in particular how Wolverine does tend to mentor female teenage X -men trainees in that "do as I say, not as I do manner". Scott on the other hand tends to surround himself with a certain skillset puts them to task and gets out of their way. It will be fascinating to see how this plays out on opposite sides of the fence.

Some might find the Prelude to Schism miniseries completely dull because it's essentially a drawing room drama with each issue exploring a conversation between Scott and his most trusted mentors and advisors... All within the context of each of their individual past history with arch other and how that impacts the impossible decision Scott must make on behalf of all mutant-kind and it's survival on The island of mutopia. I found it quite engaging in light of the action that breaks out in the schism mini itself.

No way(Geek out time)...Cyclops can make his optic blast as thin, or as wide as he needs to...Wolverine would never get near him.

Wolverine can sneak up to a deer and pet it, what makes you think he couldn't get the drop on Scotty?

When I was first introduced to the original X-Men, Cyclops was always my favorite out of the other 5. So of course when the "New" X-Men came in to being he was the first I had a connection with. But then they slowly pushed Wolverine more and more into the spotlight and he became a favorite. But now Wolverine is EVERYWHERE and I am getting a little sick of him being on every team and in every book Marvel produces.

Now, although I prefer Cyclops (I've never been too into the whole Bad Boy thing) I do believe that Wolverine could take him.

I mean, sure Cyke could blast him left and right... but Wolvie regenerates. A lot.

Sooner or later, he's gonna get the drop on him.

You'll be happy about the news that it's nightcrawler's turn to be not- dead again. Also Cable is apparently coming back as well, although truth be told, I didn't even realize he was dead.

Looks like they brought back the Nightcrawler from the recent storyline where they go to the "Age of Apocalypse" Universe. See the red tattoo over his left eye? When kinda bums me out though...because he's not "our" Nightcrawler.

I wonder who else they're going to bring back with them? Wolverine told Jean Grey that she and the rest of "her" X-Men should come back with them to our Universe.

*UPDATE*! Just got this off Marvel.com

Uncanny X-Force: The Story:The fate of the entire world rests on the shoulders of Deadpool! A new Death is born! Refugee mutants from the Age of Apocalypse descend on our world! Can the merc with a mouth hold off long enough for X-Force to regroup? Is there any hope of staving off the Age of Archangel? Not if Iceman and The Blob have their say.

I didn't know Nightcrawler was dead or had a face tattoo. Lame.

I mostly know him from this:
