Cyclops or Wolverine

Back when i read X-MEN way back when it was just Uncanny X-MEN and New Mutants yes talking way way back
my favorite was always Cyclops, yeah Wolverine was cool and all but i always liked Cyclops better mainly because unlike Wolverine who extended his claws at the drop of a hat Cyclops would think things out and was a fuller chacter
Remember back then Wolverine was still a man of mystery and his past was untold
so just wondering who you perfer or perfered

Wolvie, Cyclops always seemed so whiney and wishy washy.

Always Cyclops! He's the leader for a reason...he's a brilliant tactician. He seems quiet and reserved because of his extremely analytical mind...but also because he's holding back immense power. If Cyclops unleashed the full power of his optic-blast, he could level a mountain.
If Cyclops ever had to fight Wolverine to the death...there'd be nothing left but an Adamantium Skeleton.

To me, Cyclops is like Kirk on Star Trek. Yeah, Spock (Wolverine) seems more interesting on the surface and McCoy (Nightcrawler) is the moral center and you can always count on Scottie (COlossus), but when you get down to it, the heart and mind of the show (comic) was Kirk(Cyclops).

But Wolverine is infinitely cooler. And when the two characters are pushing each other's buttons is when X-Men was at its best, to me.

Anyway, Cyclops is alright...he ain't no Wolverine though.

You are dreaming...Wolvie is capable of deflecting Cyclops' beam...he then will jump on his blinded butt...and cut that square into a million pieces.

You see...Wolverine is just a superior fighter in hand-to-hand combat...and he will make it his fight....he's just not going to stand there and let Cyclops blast him for no reason...Wolverine will sneak up on him before poor Cyclops even realized what hit him...






Also the BIG difference between the two...Wolverine is a natural born killer...Cyclops is not.

Another advantage for Wolverine...he reacts instinctively...Cyclops is too much of a thinker...

I have been hearing this IF about Cyclops since I was a little kid.

When are we finally going to see this so-called famous IF of his???

How many times have you seen him actually leveling mountains?

EXACTLY... Cyclops has always been MUCH more powerful, plus he's old school.

Cyclops has been actually really quite nicely developed as leader of the mutant nation of Utopa ever since they killed Jean Grey off once again.

He's in a much more mature relationship with Emma Frost and both Professor X and Magneto defer to his decisions. He's shown a great deal of confidence and accomplishment in the past few years under the writing skills of Joss Whedon, Warren Ellis, Ed Brubaker, Jason Aaron and Matt Fraction... All building upon Grant Morrison's New X-Men Run.

Most folks are pretty tired of Wolverine, but I highly recommend anything written by Jason Aaron. Particularly Astonishing Spiderman and Wolverine.
