Again i'll say it and Samurainoir showed it. There IS NO DECLINE in his artwork that was a loose sketch he did that Marvel published. That drawing is 100 times better than most current Marvel artist can do on a good day.....

^I think Adams just doesn't care to polish his artwork like he used to. When he inked his own stuff it was more raw and less slick than when Giordano inked it (see Batman #251 for example), but he seems to be more "sketchy" now than even back then.
The "improvements" he made to the Batman Illustrated volumes shows this. Side-by-side to his older stuff, I think it actually looks inferior.
He has held up better than most artists do, though.

I agree. It's always good to see Neal Adams' work, but The Avengers this ain't. And why is it that Adams' art is degrading? I know he's getting older. but it's like he's not happy with how his stuff looks/looked, so he's trying to make it look like someone else. Sad. Adams' is one of the grandfathers of modern comics art....Comment

sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.Comment

But on the other hand, he did do iconic Superman and his Green Lantern run is still largely without peer....sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! ^^^ And where do you get a rubber flag pole. Never cared for Adams all that much, but man he's really hit the wall. You must try to generate happiness within yourself. If you aren't happy in one place, chances are you won't be happy anyplace. -Ernie BanksComment

For me, some of Adams best artwork was on The Avengers during the Kree-Skrull War (inked by Tom Palmer I think)...but all of this modern stuff like these Marvel covers, Batman Odyssey and even the redos/recolors he did on the Deadman HC just leave me cold...Think OUTSIDE the Box! For the BEST in Repro & Custom Packaging!Comment

At 70 years old the man still draws rings around most artist....sorry I fail to see what part of "He sucks" applies..... Has his work changed yeah a bit but he's not a 20 year old. he's 70 years old and he's not a starving artist anymore with anything to prove. Can he still draw dynamic poses Yup! If he had a Great inker doing his work and "fixing" the things he just doesn't want to do any more....most people would be none the wiser.
Point John Bryne is a great artist but Terry Austin's inks made his X-men run LegendaryComment
