It's just that l'il cape robs him of all credibility! It's like he's nine or something.
I completely agree on the cape. It's silly.

I love the idea of "Superman as butt-insky" though. He is kind of the ultimate butt-insky, isn't he?

No longer really Clark Kent and more Kryptonian than human in heritage.

"Additionally, Superman's alien origins will be emphasized in a big way, with the character described as "more Kal-El from the planet Krypton than Clark Kent from Kansas." Superman's deep connection to his Kryptonian heritage also explains his new costume, as seen on the cover of Superman #1. It's "ceremonial armor" from his home planet, with the traditional red trunks abandoned"
Ugh...Yet ANOTHER version of Krypton.....How many is this since the Byrne reboot began?

And as suspected the marriage of Clark Kent and Lois Lane is going bye-bye....

Plus, Clark doesn't become Superman until both adoptive parents die....

Yeah kiddies looks like REAL great changes are coming to the Man of Steel And yet apparently all of Batman's recent baggage (i.e. Damian, etc.) remains in tact...Go figure...

          >And as suspected the marriage of Clark Kent and Lois Lane is going bye-bye....

Hey; it worked for Spiderman. Which is why I think they do this; I bet it DID work for Spiderman.... outrage is still press, and there’s really no such thing as bad press. Sure, it doesn’t bring lasting results but you get a bum p in sales for an issue or two as everyone tunes in to see what the hubub is about.

          >I like the golden age stories where Superman is kind of a "local jerk vigilante/buddinsky" type.

Funny thing; I suspect that, given the Siegel and Shuster flap this is the one version of Supes that WON’T be back. Given the varied sources that fed into the character over the decades I’m wondering exactly what version S&S’s descendants could claim.

          >No longer really Clark Kent and more Kryptonian than human in heritage.

....and yet more down to earth and relatable. *Sigh* I wish I could find the market group scene, with the kids, from the Poochie episode of the Simpsons.

          >Kal-El's present will be told in Superman, with a "new status quo at the Daily Planet"

Hmmmm.... 'cos nothing says hip and new like working for a newspaper....
