Do you think they are intentionally making this reboot so mind numbingly horrible as to get fans to flock back to DC when they inevitably change it back to normal? I guess that does make some kind of twisted sense. It is hard to imagine anyone at DC could legitimately think these changes are good. New and Classic DC on the way?

I can't believe no one else on the entire interwebs is seeing this.
Who done sez L'il Abner t'aint ahconukle?
Can't wait for the bullet ridden appearance of Morrison's Fearless Fosdick like Batman and Plastic Man as the Schmoo. Mark my words, the newly single Superman is going to be chased around by Lois Lane like it's Sadie Hawkins day.Last edited by samurainoir; Jul 14, '11, 2:33 PM.Comment

To take Superman in this direction is IMO disrespectful to the character and his legacy. And honestly who in today's society is going to relate to 1938 ideals? They've already decided that Supes is no longer American so what exactly is his moral ground that establishes his idealism?
I think Azrak may have a hand in thisComment

if sales are low.....try something smart...like lowering the price on comics, not changing the appearance and personality of iconic characters. kids today can't afford to buy comics....hekll as an adult I can barely afford them......but I would if they were good stories....this dreck they are putting out now if not worth the paper it is printed onComment

Man, you have to think that this is possibly DC/Warner Brother's last potential kick at the can before the Seigel's and Shuster's come and take their toys away. I guess they really have nothing to lose. They have Gold with the next Batman, but you'd think they must really be banking for a payday with this Superman movie... Particularly with Harry Potter going away as their cash cow. You've got Watchmen and Green Lantern underperforming, a misfired Wonder Woman tv show and Smallville ending.
Meanwhile, Marvel seems to be cleaning up with their slate of movies. The pressure is on.Comment

Since he's come on board at DC things have gone downhill consistently...one Crisis and reboot after another. In the short span of time he's been involved with DC editorial how many changes to origins, reboots, deaths and resurrections and new versions of old characters have been crammed down our collective throats?
I have never, in all of my years of comic reading/collecting, been as vocal and disappointed in the direction of a company as I have with DC under DiDio...He's a hack and has mismanaged a once great comic comapny into a shadow of its former self.
It's ironically very fitting that DC is being run by someone whose prior "claim to fame" before DC was spearheading the ABC-TV show known as "Reboot"....The guy is making a career off one word....Think OUTSIDE the Box! For the BEST in Repro & Custom Packaging!Comment

I do agree DC under DiDio has become quite the mess - this revamp is being met with so many cries of outrage that I can only imagine the panic in the DC head offices if sales tank on this."It's sad that governments are chiefed by the double tongues. There is iron in your words of death for all Comanche to see, and so there is iron in your words of life. No signed paper can hold the iron. It must come from men. The words of Ten Bears carries the same iron of life and death. It is good that warriors such as we meet in the struggle of life... or death. It shall be life."Comment

Hey, at least if you want to make a kitbash custom out of Morrison's version, you can just grab some Walton's clothing out of the parts box...I almost had a psychic girlfriend but she dumped me before we met.
If anyone here believes in psychokinesis, please raise my hand.Comment

I don't want to be the stereotypical whiny and demanding fanboy, but this stuff is just so terrible that I have a very difficult time believing it will last a year. Maybe I'm just old and/or not the target market, but this reboot just seems completely tone deaf.
Frankly, I wouldn't be too surprised if this leads to DC Comics periodical line being completely shuttered.Comment
