This isn't just a temporary alternate universe thing, from Flashpoint? I assumed it was. Otherwise, it's just silly.Leave a comment:

Is this reboot/relaunch/whatever actually part of the legal issues over Sups with the Shuster and Seigel heirs? So, even if this bombs we are stuck with this new Sups and gang? I'm not at all up on all the legal stuff. Anybody know?

What stinks is that it isn't just DC that's going to hurt if this flops, but thousands of local comic shops. Everyone is putting on a brave face at this point, but this move is really going to screw them over if it doesn't work. I just don't have much confidence that the stores will gain enough casual readers to make up for the lost longtime fans who either won't be buying at all (me) or the ones who will put up with it for a year or so then give up.
I hope it goes well for the sake of comic shop owners, but I think this could shake out to be one of the biggest blunders in comics since Marvel bought Heroes World.
My fear is that the 52 #1s are going to end up to be 52 coffin nails for DC.Leave a comment:

I don't plan on dropping any standards but the big unanswered question will be "can they keep me"? I hope so. I'm rooting for this to be good.Leave a comment:

And there you go again with Jim Lee bashing...you just can't help yourself can ya Joe? Why do you start up a "how much you hate Tom Welling and Smallville" thread while you're at it.

Anthony, it's funny that you mention this because Jim Lee was on twitter one night last weekend pondering Flash's powers while evidently drawing him for the Justice League book and throwing out some rudimentary physics — had to be simple for me to get it — and it was clear the co-publisher of DC had absolutely no clue how Schwartz and his writers explained away those things decades ago.Not necessary...Flash's aura protects him AND his costume from the ravages of running at superspeed...Flash Fact
I like Lee's art and from a couple of panels I've seen, he seems like a good guy. I also like the fact he's on twitter, but i don't know how wise it is for the co-publisher of a company to be questioning the validity of one of the company's key brands in public. That's for behind closed doors.
But his questions about the Flash might give some insight on the steel boot? Honestly, though, he probably just thinks they look cool. I'm just glad they are not all wearing leather jackets like all the characters he created for X-men ad Wildstorm.Leave a comment:

Meh, I bet this lasts about a year. If it fails, it should put an end to Jim Lee as DC's redesigner. WW and Supes look the worst of the bunch. Some of the non big hero books have my interest OMAC and Frankenstein leading the pack.Leave a comment:

I'm cutting back on a lot of books and it looks like DC has just solved my problem of trying to decide.Leave a comment:

The "relaunch" won't stop me from picking up all my standards:
Batman
Green Lantern
Green Lanterns: New Guardians
JLA
Nightwing
Batgirl
Batwoman
Aquaman
Maybe Superman depending on who the artist is.Leave a comment:

I'm kind of sad, because we're not planning to pick up the relaunch stuff either as of right now. I think the the only book left in our box will be Terry Moore's "Rachel Rising." Everything else got cut a while back because books were getting too expensive.
I think the choker looks good on Wonder Woman. But I've always liked that kind of jewelry anyway.
Does anyone know who is going to be the Flash?Last edited by Bizarro Amy; Jun 28, '11, 5:20 PM.Leave a comment:
