All Star Squadron #36 was just one issue of a comic title that had to have Cap vs the Squadron, not an Epic one on one battle. My opinion... Superman!
Actually Alex Ross is the biggest Captain Marvel fan you will ever find. It was a trick and lucky maneuver by Superman in Kingdom Come that beat CM. But it clearly shows (as Alex wanted) Superman was getting his *** handed to him and badly. Read the book, Mythology and read what Ross says about CM vs Superman (if your a Superman fan, you better not read it)

Again...the perpetual itch of the Captain Marvel fanboys badly needing their hero beating Superman at all possible costs...a true sign of infinite second-place syndrome...lol.

I was fine and letting this one go...but your continuing..."Superman was getting his *** handed to him and badly"...babbling...well...I cannot stand by, and say nothing.

Just face it...your Pepsi and Burger King will never beat my Coke and McDonald's...NEVER...not in a million trillion years...give it up already...lol.

Truth be told. I haven't drank a soda or went to either of these fast food joints in about a million trillion years. I think I went to a Wendy's about 5 years ago. Wow. How time flies by.

I know the debate will continue on and on and on, but here's a new perspective.

If you pick up Action Comics 768, Superman is temporarily given the magic power of Shazam. He mentions he'd never felt anything like it and couldn't believe how it felt to have that power flowing through him. Of course it could have been the magic or just a poorly written story by Joe Kelly. I know the art was abysmal.

I think the more interesting fight is Superman vs. Black Adam as featured in the DVD.
I almost had a psychic girlfriend but she dumped me before we met.

If anyone here believes in psychokinesis, please raise my hand.

Not sure how it was a trick or lucky that Superman knew how to stop Billy and talk some sense into him. Superman outsmarted him in what was a stalemate that was keeping him from stopping the bomb. Luthor's plan all along for his lackey Captain Whitebread.

Yes, it was a stalemate. But once the SHAZAM lightning came into play, it wasn't anymore. Supes was getting creamed (blood flowing everywhere) and he was going to lose. But he kept his wits and used his super-mind and super-speed to get out of that jam. CM was just all about kill-mode due to his mind control.

But like I said before, Kingdom Come writer, Mark Waid loved CM but Alex Ross worships him and he wanted CM to have the edge (yes, Supes overcame that edge with his super-speed to grab CM's mouth) but it was clear that Supes had no hope of defeating CM hand-to-hand and he was on the verge of losing once the lightning came in. It's all there.

Read the CM section in the "DC Mythology" book dedicated to Alex Ross. Ross explains that CM should beat Superman every time.

Alright Hector, let me have it...

Hell, Batman even managed to take out Cap in Kingdom Come. Once Jonn figured out it was Billy that they were dealing with. Just because Alex Ross thinks something, its not fact, just opinion, just like this thread of 6 pages.

Of course it is and I'm not denying that. But Alex Ross's opinion means more than yours or mine because he has control over the outcome and how the fight will play out because he is co-creating the book. So in essence he can make it fact. It's his and Mark Waids right, they are being paid by DC to do so. We are the guys on the sidelines just looking in and hoping things will turn out for the best.

But then again, you already knew that that right?

                      No he doesn't.

He might mean more than yours...not mine's...I could give a rats arse what he thinks...he didn't create the character...he's just a hired gun with his own opinions...just like any other person...he's nothing special...just some dude who gets paid for making stuff up.

Hey...you might say..."well, the original Superman wasn't that strong or fast, etc..."

Ok...true enough...but thanks to Superman...some other dudes (Beck & Parker) went ahead and ripped him off from Siegel & Shuster...and created Captain Marvel...they just changed a few things here and there.

It's BECAUSE of SUPERMAN...that Captain Marvel exists at all in the first place.

                      Carry on...

Let him have his glory in this thread...the rest of the world knows who the daddy is in this duel...Superman. Outside of comic geeks...nobody knows who the hell Captain Marvel is...

Well it took you long enough Hector. And BAM!! Three posts in a row.

But yes, Ross and any creator who get's the chance to write a Superman vs CM story has a more important opinion than yours because he's using the actual characters owned by the company to make the comic. You and me can just argue and it holds nothing because at the end of the day it's whats in the comic that we have to reference despite our opinions.

Now Hector, if you have a chance to write a story (other than the ones under your pillows) then your opinions will truly matter. But I don't think that's going to happen anytime soon...or like in this lifetime.

And yes, it's always about the glory. You have no idea Hector. You have no idea...

OK, I read thru Mythology last night and can not find the Ross statement you claim is there. Care to supply a page number? The only thing that I read that is even close is Ross says that he has powers to rival Superman. And, Alex Ross' opinion is no more valid than mine or Hector's in regards to this 3rd grade schoolyard arguement.
