Totally agree. My thing with casting Superheroes is...if you don't get the lead character right, you've already blown it. And that Chick just didn't look then part.

Now WB...quit messing around and give Green Arrow his own series.

I would like to catch the pilot, just because I've seen so many photos from the set. But I think this is for the best.

Probably for the best. I wonder if the pilot will see some kind of release, like Mercy Reef/Aquaman?

It would have been another "new Bionic Woman" anyway so no loss.

Look up the script online. You'll be glad it was cancelled. Real cringe worthy stuff. It really is as god awful as people say. I want WW back too but this wasn't the way to do it. It's better to wait a bit longer and have it done right.

                  She deserves a movie anyway.

I hope I get to at least see the pilot.

I did and I remember how much people complained about Tim Burton's version of Batman but in the end it turned out good. I was hoping the same thing for Wonder Woman. There may not be another chance for Wonder Woman. She's not Batgod who's been given show after show in cartoons and movies and dvd movie's as well, which I know it's because he sells. We never see Wonder Woman again in our life time. I hope this isn't the case but it took 35 years from the last time.

it did kinda have the ring of the Reb Brown Captain America.

though i must say I am a sucker for superheroes - i wouldda watched anyway (after all I own the Reb Brown Cap and have watched it multiple times - do I have a problem?)

Nothing could have saved this version. The script is bad to the point of being insulting and degrading to the character. WW is not an insecure, giggly school girl that throws icecream sleep overs.

It's just a mess. Badly cast and badly written with a cheap ugly Party City Halloween costume for a suit. Sups and Batman can survive crap like Schumacher's Batman movies. But this would have killed WW. We have a much better chance at a big budget WW movie franchise now with this mess getting canned.

[Edit] Calling it abysmal doesn't even begin to do it justice.

                        Here's a script review.

Good to hear from people who actually saw the pilot or read the script. Not that everyone isn't entitled to equal input, but I feel better about missing out if... well, we're not missing out.

I'm wondering if this bodes poorly for just Wonder Woman or for live-action superhero shows in general. I would think the former, with Disney's (and susbsequently ABC) relationship with Marvel, but who knows. Once production execs feel something is on the downturn, they start to flee. This show did have some things going for it, in theory- a well-known character, a successful producer. There hasn't been a lot of small screen success for superheroes, save for Smallville which has as much in common with some of the other teen angst-filled shows on the CW as it does with the hero genre. I know ABC is currently developing 2 hereo shows (Hulk and AKA Jessica Jones) AND there is talk about how ABC and Disney can better exploit the Marvel characters. Maybe that portends well.

I know, I know... I'm a broken record... but I just have to see if I evoke
any more "thumbs up" for the recent WW animated movie... I loved it
and my thoughts are if the same movie was live-action... it would've
killed... now it's just about already buried in superhero history.

I'd think it was a lot more messy for stations to invest in a TV show
as it's a set of shows to commit to buying (?)...
while movies seem to be more of a consolidated gamble.

Sometimes a brand/franchise name or actor is all it takes
to justify a subpar movie being made.... a lot simpler. eh?
