Punisher shot him.
But gosh darn if this t'aint a nice Frank Cho cover.
Not that this cover is a spoiler, 'cause Punisher's not actually wearing his Captain America black ops outfit when he does it. Although he was aiming to shoot Cap hisself.
I think it's funny how Marvel now has the problem DC thought they had in the 80s. All the multiple earths are REALLY hard to keep a part nowadays. Some folks at DC thought so, although I never had trouble with it, and I was like, seven!

Agreed! And now, DC goes through all the trouble of reinstating a multiverse, and they don't populate it. Those Red Circle/Archie heroes should have been in their own universe. Same with Thunder Agents.
Again, I disagree. The first couple volumes of Ultimates is really good super-hero comics!
Totally agree, The Ultimates by Mark Millar and artist Bryan Hitch was a breath of fresh air taking beloved characters and giving them a fresh new start, I was never so excited and so into a book when they were on it.......and interesting how those versions are the ones that the movies will be loosely based on.....
Caps movie costume is the Ultimates inspired version.....
