so i missed some episodes from seasons 6-9. where did the suit come from that we see in the fortress?

i have to wait until tuesdays to see these because i watch them online. ARGH

i thought booster episode was AWESOME
the Zod episode was great but i was wincing during most b/c my kids were watching.

the final regular episode - lois empowered slightly annoyed me. i don't care for Durance (OK visually she is fine) and i just don't think we need a second Lois gets powers episode. did they forget they already did that? i watched to see the legion of doom who we only got a glimpse of - oh well, i suppose this was just a set up for the finale.

i did like the starro inclusion but lois knowingly puts it on while she has super powers STUPID -especially since her choice was put it on now and kill clark yourself or just don't and let clark deal with the bad guys. it's not like they are coming in the next 20 minutes. oh no wait - she thought for sure toyman was telling teh trut and no harm would come to clark. please.

nice to see other Supers working in this, though a little silly. GA has 2 collapsible bows? supergirl needs it? and she can use it that accurately?

so next episode: - Lex, Darkseid et al, Toyman, metallo, capt cold, roulette, dark archer, grundy, manta -YES!

note there is an empty chair at teh legion of doom. and i would say it is NOT for toyman but rather for Lex.

the suit and i'd assume flight

i am leaning Legion of Superheroes for the spin off series

My wife called "out of character" on Lois putting that Starro thing on, and I kind of agree.

I love Durance's Lois. The first Lois that I can totally believe a Superman could fall for, and not just for her looks either. She's got spunk without the overdose of...well...crankiness that others have displayed. And she's believable in her romance with Clark without breaking into mindless poetry (can you read my mind?)

She's my favorite Lois, bar none. Sorry Terri.

The suit came from Martha Kent. I'm thinking Season 9. Jor El snatched it up and encased it at the fortress. I'll have to check with my wife the Smallville junkie around these parts to be sure.

Yeah Durance's Lois is a lot of fun. a little loose considering she's bagged a couple super heroes and one luthor, but whatcha gonna do?

I really have enjoyed the way the writers have told this version of the Superman story. Sure there's been a bit too much soap opera drama over the years but the fun has out weighed the bad.

Yeah, Martha sends it to Clark in the season finale last year (Season 9). Clark takes it to the Fortress in the opener this year, and Jor-El is a jerkwad to him again and tells him he's not ready blah-blah, and encases it in ice until he cleans up his room and takes the trash out.

thanks. i do plan to watch / rewatch the series when i have time.

and as far as Erica goes - I do like her as teh character - my issue is more with how the part was crammed in and the path she has taken. if i hear her say "The general..." one more time I will stuck a pen in my ear. they also aren't consistent with her past.

i prefer Teri Hatcher both the actress and definitely the role.

                i do like noel alot.

phyllis was a noel stand in and basically non existant.

margo i liked in 1978-80 but rewatching those movies I really do not like her. the fact she was only a cameo in 3 was one of the highlights of that movie.

the Returns lois was a really HUGE casting mistake on top of the fact the part was poorly written.

Erica Durance's tough as nails approach is most definitely the post Crisis John Byrne reboot Lois (I believe he added her background as a military brat), while all the live action portrayals of Lois seem to adhere to the Golden and Silver age incarnations (including Hatcher and Kate Bosworth).

This seems in keeping with Smallville's Clark, which is also closer to Byrne's reboot vision that Clark Kent is actually the man, and Superman the disguise. A reversal of the previous fifty years which had Clark Kent as the disguise and Superman as the "real" personality. Mark Waid, Mark Millar, and Grant Morrison of course went back in the other direction within the past decade.

I think Geoff Johns most recent interpretations of the origin find the middle compromise to the two extremes quite well. With Superman and Clark projecting and exaggerating aspects of his personality, and he's only really truly himself when he's with Lois or his parents.

Phyliss Coates played a very independent, bossy, er..somewhat "witchy" Lois. Pretty consistent with the earliest comic portrayal. Noel Neil was very likeable. How could you not like her?

Margot had chemistry with Reeve and worked in the first movie. I didn't care for her as much in the subsequent films.

I REALLY liked Terri Hatcher at the time. She made the show watchable when it went through it's most horrible plots.

Bosworth is just kind of..there. I didn't hate her like some, but she's forgettable. Her greatest contribution to the character is passing out and sliding down the plane escape slide.

Other than Jerry Seigel's wife Joanne, Lois apparently has her origins in this character, Torchy Blane, and actress Lola Lane. Interesting...

Margot Kidder nailed it in those opening scenes at the Planet and with Clark and Supes in "Superman:The Movie"...where I start to lose interest is during the "Can You Read My Mind" scene and during her "death" scene...

Although it's only a vocal performance, Dana Delaney's Lois in Superman: The Animated Series is my favorite version of the character.

There are things I like about all the Lois' mentioned, though. Kidder really nailed the take-no-prisoners, use-everybody-for-her-own-good aspect of the character, particularly in her earliest scenes in the first movie as Anthony pointed out.

I love Terri Hatcher. Just gorgeous. A little silly, but that was kind of the tone of the show. While Lois and Clark had its faults, I have to say I enjoyed the Clark/Lois relationship.

Erica Durance and Smallville's Lois has grown on me quite a bit. She's developed as an actress and a comedienne. I could see her being really good in the right sitcom. I particularly enjoyed how she picked at Clark and kept him on his toes before they got so lovey dovey the last couple of seasons.

I liked Phyllis Coates a little better than Noel Neil in the Adventures of Superman, mainly because the I liked the earlier shows, which were more serious in tone, than the ones that featured Neil. But I do like Noel Neil. Her tone was lighter and she and Jimmy certainly kept Superman busy with their capers.

As for Bosworth, she is a decent actress, but the part written in Superman Returns is about as far away from any version of Lois we had ever seen. Of course, we've rarely seen Lois as a mom, but Bosworth was forgettable in the movie. Her part could have been as easily named "Generic conflicted love interest" as Lois Lane.

I'm looking forward to Amy Adams in the new film. Just hope the part is written well.

Here is a nice run-down on where the Smallville characters are right now going in to the finale. For those of you who dropped out a while ago (or never watched much) this should help clear things up.
