    Smallville's final run

    Spoilers, of course!

Last night began the final run of new Smallvilles. It was a well-done episode, with John Schneider doing an excellent turn as a different Jonathan Kent. It was nice to see him get a send-off with some hope attached.

I still think they killed off Jonathan too early in the series. I know Clark was supposed to grow up and move on from the farm...but he really didn't. I guess they removed the character to put more focus on Clark/Lex/Lana and give the illusion of progressing Clark into Superman, but it somehow became more of a stumbling block than a help. Schneider kept the series grounded while he was on it. No matter how out there the plots got, he was able to set things right with a few glances and a word of wisdom or two. Long way from air-headed Bo Duke!

The previews for the finale keep giving me goosebumps. I hope they deliver on what they are obviously promising.

I missed it last night and will have to find it on-line. I think this is going to be a fun run.

From the looks of it the show will definitely be going out on a high note for sure.

Was almost hoping he would have grabbed Jonathan and brought him back for Martha and himself.
I thought the same thing. Who knows, maybe he would have if he wasn't jerked out of there. Of course I guess he can get back there via the Fortress...

I kind of agree on the Booster thing, but maybe Clark will learn a lesson from Booster about having some sort of public image as a hero, just not to Booster's extremes.

That was my first thought too! But Clark did tell Him to go find the Martha of that World. Maybe he thought it would be selfish to bring him back.

Man, it was like an issue of the old Joker comics come to life.
As opposed to spinning the Earth backwards just so your girlfriend doesn't die?

Plus he's not the same Jonathon. Not the same history. But with Clark setting Clark Luthor straight who knows? Maybe the Kent family can be rebuilt in that other universe?

I think they were married...but Jonathan did say that Martha left him.

Jonahan said the meteor shower messed up the farm and left him bitter and desperate so Martha left him. So they were married.

Didn't really like Clark and Lois' decision at the end. They didn't have to do that to move to Metropolis. I get the metaphorical moving on meaning, but it didn't seem to be a very Clark thing to do.

Well, in the Silver Age books, the Kents sold the farm while Clark was a young boy, and moved to town so they could run the general store. I think Clark kept the house in town after his parents died. He preserved it just as it was...which is actually kind of creepy, and just a waste of money on a reporter's salary living in a big city.

He eventually sold the farm in Superman IV, if you want to count that as happening.

I don't think it's too far fetched for him to sell it. And crazy Jonathan's jacked priorities helped spur him on. Plus, it's of course a big metaphor that our time in Smallville is soon over.

Well, I'd watch a series with Booster Gold. This guy totally sold it.

Nice appearance by Ted Kord. I'm glad they didn't make him evil. Although poor Dan Garrett got the shaft.

Blue Beetle was a little underused, but then again this was Booster's story. He looked better than the stills led us to believe.

I know it's the point of her character, but I REALLLLLY hate Cat Grant on here. I hope she is done.

Nice phone booth moment. We're almost there....

And the Lex commercial. Did you see the symbol?

TV weather man ruined our viewing. Kept breaking into the show over and over and over. I hate TV weather men (or women). It is the most pointless, waste of broadcast time EVER! The scroll at the bottom of the screen is good enough. I do not need to hear some yahoo rattle and babble on and on about what happened earlier and what might happen later. If a tornado is about to drop on my head the last thing I need is this ******'s opinion on the matter. AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!

I've always felt this way. Even when I have to do I even tell the audience "Never trust a TV weather man. Ever. Myself included. All forecasts come from the National Weather Service. period. All the rest is fluff and pretty pictures that will most likely be wrong in 48 hours let alone 7 days out.

                              AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

P.S. radio is just as bad these days.
