Wow, this is bizarre. The bodyguard with a gun is frightening as well. These guys are so delusional it's not hard to imagine violence escalating from this.

^^Tell me about it. I'm going to DragonCon this year, and that is one of the shows he's scheduled to be at. People are upset that not only are they allowing him to set up a table, his "bodyguard" is allowed to carry the gun. Apparently he has a permit. If Granito still shows up, I plan to stay away. Never know what kind of confrontations might happen. I'm hoping others will do the same.

Someone used to ape John Byrne sketches at conventions some years ago and Byrne offered to re-draw it himself for anyone taken in by the counter-fitter. Very nice of Byrne I might add. This guy tho is way off the charts. I am curious tho how many of the things he steals-he just reverses or flips the image. Maybe this guy suffers from some sort of artists dyslexia?

Sad to say lot's of Toads like him exist in this age of websites, blogs, facebook etc... Anyone can make a website load up their crappy art and pass themselves off as a professional.

I knew a guy who was as delusional as this Rob guy,he had his art on a site that Ranked artist and somehow he was number one. He told me he was the number one artist Globally ( I kid you not)which of course made me laugh in his face.( I saw his work this guy Rob looks like Picasso compared to the guy i knew) I later learned that all you had to do was go on the site and refresh the page and your count number went up so instant number one status for him.

Sadly lot's of young, new, lazy artists just don't learn the basics of anatomy form or color or learn to paint . I see a trend where lot's of kids want to bypass learning first to be a traditional artist but rather go straight to the computer. lacking basics skills traditionally will catch up with you someday when your in a pinch.

I see a lot of digital artist who can't draw or paint when asked to draw on Paper or canvas and then they have the nerve to call themselves artist........it's one thing if you do have the traditional skills and then move to the computer that's fine....but you can't learn to walk without crawling first.

What ticks me off the most with this guy Rob is the flat out lying of who he worked for my goodness does he think people in the comic community are that dumb?

I mean every artist does a Homage to the artist that influenced them and you give them credit so that people know that you are paying tribute to the artist but damn don't just swipe it and pass off as your own creation.

Too funny! I saw this guy at Wizard World too. I didn't know he was playing himself off as the legit artist on the pieces he was selling. I thought maybe he had made prints or did some photoshoping etc. because I recognized many of the various styles as belonging to others. He was selling a clearly drawn by Bruce Timm Supergirl but it had his name on it. It made me pause because I knew that picture as Timm's. Then I shrugged and followed the pretty girls dressed up as Green Lantern and Supergirl.
