My problem is if they are going to do a costume with pants and a heavy boot, etc. Then why the strapless, bulging top? The whole reason WW wore such a skimpy outfit in the original comics was because the then modern clothing would get in the way of her movements, so if they are not going with the traditional outfit, then why not just give her something fantastic four-ish with some stars and stripes on it? She could have movement without looking like she's going to lose her top. I'll watch this to see what happens, but hopefully there are a majority of scenes where she looks like she likes being Wonder Woman. Right now, although, she is in motion doing stunts, and these are photos of what will probably be 5 seconds on screen, she just doesn't look confident
    It's all good!

The second costume is much improved.

Having said that...she still looks more like Wonder Girl than Wonder Woman.

Maybe the original skirt would have been the way to go. You get flashes of leg, but it still covers more than the shorts? Lynda Carter wore it briefly in the pilot movie even.

I was trying to think where I'd seen the pants like that before. It reminds me of Lynda Carter's deep-dive/motorcycle suit. But there was also a "Captain Wonder" during the early 80s Roy Thomas/Gene Colan run who was essentially a male Wonder Woman created by Dr. Psycho. He had long blue pants with stars on f the legs, and the red boots.

I prefer the traditional outfit. What's not to like about a little leg? If it ain't broke...

I think the outfit Lois wore is not modern looking at all. I loved Lynda Carter as Wonder Woman and as a kid I never noticed her acting was at best OK but Adriene can act and I think she'll do a good job and I like the new outfit with the red boots and darker pants with stars. After the final cut I bet it ends up looking great. During Lyndas run as Wonder Woman we only seen the final product and I bet when this is done it will look alot better.

                    Now THAT'S more like it..
Her face and hair looks the part...but her head is way too big for her tiny shoulders (kinda like Salma Hayek)...she lacks those statuesque shoulders of Lynda Carter and the new actress playing Wonder Woman.

That just looks like something you could buy from a cheap costume store. The small fake tennis ball boobs just don't say Amazon to me either! Not much a "Wonder" woman to be honest. David E. Kelly will have to pull something really special out of the bag to make this work.

Two thing have occurred to me about this.

1 - She looks like a normal woman who gained super powers ( ala Spiderman, FF ) and decided to create a costume and become "Wonder Woman" not someone who has lived for a long time on an island of only women with a culture that dates back to ancient Greece. Someone who is almost as invulnerable as Superman and can go toe to toe with him in a fight - a real Wonder Woman.

2 - Who is the target audience? If it's only comic book readers that are familiar with all of WW's changes over the years then ok but the risk is there for the general audience to tune in take a look and say "that's not Wonder Woman" not unlike the Cathy Lee Crosby incident. How do you think a Superman movie or tv show ( or any hero ) would go over if you totally changed the look from what most people think of when you say the name?

I'm no fan, but hasn't Smallville run for 10 years on "it's Superman, but not"? I think some of what you see here is the same thing they did on Smallville: trying to daw in the fans/geeks with the basic premioe and then make it "cool" enough for the kids at the cool table to watch without having to think they're watching the same show as the comic nerds with lots of angst and other "character" elements to make it seem more adult/real (make the costume "better", make the writing more funny and the stories more "realistic").

Kelley has a strange writing sensibility, and can get SUPER preachy (I found Picket Fences unwatchable for the heavy-handed moralizing), but he has produced interseting and popular shows.

See Men want to see some leg and will tune in for that forget story for a moment. 70's WW season 2 and 3 sucked monkey bones...we just wanted to see Lynda running around....that's the truth.

Women envision themselves as WW and when they see someone who doesn't wow them or fit their Idea as WW they'll tune out....so most likely this show may tank big time.....she's going to get compared to Lynda in the looks department no matter what and she's no Lynda......

I agree about Smallville. They are doing good Superman stories but not have him be Superman, which is annoying, at least to me. At least Smallville started at a point when they could justify the lack of the "suit" - it's just run too long without the transition. In the beginning it seemed as if they wanted Smallville Creek with all the teen angst over Lana. I always found that to be over done when we all know how his love story end - Lois Lane. I've only stuck with Smallville because I've watched it from the beginning.

I just think that WW is a different ballgame, look at Birds of Prey. They changed that so it didn't even resemble the comic, the characters weren't anything that people were expecting - Batgirl in a wheelchair is ok if you follow the comic but not if you don't already know about it. I also felt that it didn't seem believable that in only 10 years nobody remembered that Batman existed and that there were no other hero's around.

Other then being compared to Lynda ( and NOBODY compares to her ) there is still the classic comic look - I have the WW door poster by Alex Ross and it IS Wonder Woman as much as Lynda Carter.
