Heard today that Michael Rosenbaum has flat out refused to return to "Smallville" for the series finale...Apparently he wants to put it behind him and concentrate on his writing (?). Whatever, dude....I just think that's lame that you couldn't put aside a few hours to shoot a scene of two to cap off the series.

Dumbest actor in the history of acting. To be such an "artist" has to be the most selfish act I've ever heard of. The best part however will be the poetic justice that will come when he takes his last breath. He will be remembered (if at all) for being the guy who played LEX LUTHOR when he dies. Then of course the report will close out with the fact that he became the most despised a hole in comic book TV fandom.

          Dink.

Michael Rosenbaum To Return For 'Smallville' Series Finale
            By NELLIE ANDREEVA | Friday February 11, 2011 @ 7:45pm PST

Deadline/TVLine EXCLUSIVE: Fans' prayers have been answered! Despite Internet reports to the contrary, Clark Kent and Lex Luthor will meet again on Smallville. After months of speculation, Michael Rosenbaum just closed a deal to return to the CW series for the finale, reprising his role as Lex Luthor.
Lex Returns: Michael Rosenbaum To Come Back For Deadline.com

Could be hogwash...but if it is, they went so far as to put quotes from Rosenbaum in the report.

Apparently, they just signed the deal this evening for him to return for the finale.

Oh, I had definitely given up on it. Some of the reports were so adamant that it wasn't going to happen.

                  If true, this is great!!

Here is another article that just hit.

The small-screen Superman mythos just breathed an enormous sigh of relief.
After nearly a year of will-he-or-won’t-he speculation, Michael Rosenbaum has inked a deal to reprise his role as Smallville‘s Lex Luthor in the two-hour season finale airing May 13, TVLine has learned.
“I’m delighted to return for the series finale,” Rosenbaum tells TVLine exclusively.

Edited to add: Above article is citing the article I already linked to.

Well... I guess MR isn't so dumb afterall. And that is a good thing. I figured him saying that he wasn't going to go back to the show was a calculated PR move on his part (and probably was). Mind you I'm not faulting him for the tactic, I actually applaud it on some levels. The only thing about the whole thing is tt I have to suck it up and admit the fact that I am a true fanboy of this high drama, teen angst laden 90210 that is Smallville.

Oh well. Bring it on Mr. Luthor!

I betcha he returns in the Power Suit and kills off Alexander the clone.

                            Great episode, and great news!

I wish Annette O'Toole would stick around til the end, but I know she want. Good to have her back though. And John Glover plays one "magnificent bast#$%", don't he?

The kid playing Alexander was superb! Mean little SOB. I'm pretty sure he's the same actor that played young Lex before... in that role Lex was also a real SOB cuz he beat down his only friend leading to him getting hit by a bus. Bravo!
