I watched it with the intent of hating it...but was pleasantly surprised...it was visually stunning and elegant.

I love the whole 60s thing and I wish the FF had been done in this period as well, looks interesting in parts, but I just can't get away from the fact they did not use the original 5 X-Men. Nicholas Holt, looks more like Scott Summers than hank McCoy.

Hector - By 'elegant' do you mean Buffy/Twilight/Charmed/Smallville-esque?

Rche - I watched it again, and you are right...that IS Hank's transformation. (I think I'd rather him NOT be the 'blue beast' in this one though...I like the design of his human form better, and I prefer the Baloo the Bear/Ben Grimm personality over the Hemingway/Picard persona..)

How is it that Mystique is in this in the sixties when she was in the original trilogy?

It's my understanding she is very old. She's a shape shifter so she can look as young as she chooses but I seem to remember her being around in the early days of Weapon X with Wolverine and Sabretooth.

Sorry when it comes to comics yeah they may lean more to negative.....I like my comics done right maybe because i was raised reading some of the greatest work ever put on paper......just me..........other than that I am a very positive friendly person......

Hey, I was raised on the Classic Comics as well...but I willing to give a little leeway when it comes to adapting them to the big Screen. It's hard to cram 40 years of X-Men history into a 2 hour Movie.
That said...I wish they had started with the original 5 X-Men. But it is, what it is.

Yeah i hear you I guess that's why I'm a little *****y about it....I wanted so badly to see the original 5 in a movie......who knows maybe someday we'll see the original X-men as an hour long TV show......

Well, my thinking is...now that they will have Xavier & Magnito's origin story out of the way...the next Movie could be about Jean, Scott, Bobby, Hank and Warren.

And pretend X-3 never happened...it shouldn't be too hard.
