The Powell issues were the only issues I picked up, enjoyed them, but still don't read the regular Supes books.
I also play with other dolls:

Powell really nailed the Golden Age/Flescher look for Supes, and I'd really welcome that on a regular Supes book. I was hoping Powell would be the new Spirit regular.

I don't think Frank Swiped that pic,.. sure it has a few similar quailities,.. however I think they look totally different. Perhaps the shape of the head,.. but alot of people Draw Joker that way.

Swiping isn't uncommon today, but then, it's NEVER been uncommon for comics. Early comic book artists swiped heavily from their comic strip heroes. Even greats like Dick Giordano have swiped. In his case, much of his solo Batman work has shots taken from pages he inked over Neal Adams' pencils. Take a look at DC books in the mid 80s and you'll find TONS of poses swiped from Jose Luis Garcia Lopez and Dick Giordano's DC Style Guide artwork. Rick Hoberg (a fine, traditional comic artist) was particularly fond of this.

So swiping is nothing new, it's just something we notice more since the net allows us and guys like Rich Johnston to be able to scan two pages of work in and post the similarities more easily.

Yeah I'd have to see more but I agree with BK that those 2 Joker pics don't convince me the one is an out-right swipe of the other. If it IS a swipe it's not as readily apparent as ones done by, say, Greg Land.

Right,Land Takes alot from photos i find his stuff all the time.I think many of the marvel artist are relying to heavily on photos.Bryan Hitch who is a Good artist but relys too much on photos.....Sadly when guys like this have success many guys follow thinking this is the style that they have to follow.

That's why I disliked the Image guys.Their storytelling abilities were poor and they subsituted that with pin-up shots.Rob Liefield the worst of the bunch(Jim Lee was the Best of them) Rob drew one pin up pose after another...also everyone at the time copied that ugly style of drawing.

Rob was also known for swiping, but like Chris said Swiping has been Common in comic books for years.John Byrne swiped alot of Neal Adams and was considered a poor man's version of him.

Hitch, Land, and Frank have all copied Alan Davis. In fact, Hitch and Frank in their early years, had quite a bit of Davis influence about them. And Land was like a cross between Davis and early Adam Hughes. I remember specific parts of Land's Nightwing mini (his first high-profile gig) where he lifted Batman and Alfred shots from Davis' run on 'Tec. Now he just uses photos.

Of couse Davis has a strong Adams influence, but I've never known him to swipe.

Turn that Frank/Land pic to the same direction you might think different. To me Frank is the low budget Bolland like Trimpe was the Kirby knockoff. I'm really not to thrilled that the book is aping the style and look of the movies. Never cared for Chris Reeves.

Ugggh...I never liked Herb Trimpe's artwork...sub-par Kirby knockoff most definitely.
