    Original Green Hornet marathon Tuesday!

Programming note: For those interested in the original Green Hornet show from the 60's, the SYFY channel will have a marathon starting THIS Tuesday at 10:00 AM through 10PM. That will be fun to record and a sad reminder of what the new movie is NOT. Set your DVR's!

It's also a sad reminder of what Syfy use to be.

So true! I have to say with the Twilight Zone marathon and now the Green Hornet marathon, I will have watched the SYFY channel more in the past two weeks, then I have in the past five years! Maybe if their programming gets better, they'll get some regular viewership back.

The new GH movie has been getting better buzz apparently (no pun intended)...so I'm wondering how it'll open this week....

No problem Tim. I'm looking forward to seeing these. All I have is the DVD movie they put out about 10 years ago. It's an odd feature because it just seems to go on forever. I'll have to switch these to disc when the marathon is over.

You know Anthony, I have thought about that as well. But when I have checked in on the Hornet fan sites to measure the "buzz", it's pretty bad. Long time fans are very unhappy with the comedic treatment. Can you blame them? I'll see it when it comes out on video. I loved the Van Williams interpretation. But this notion that a new Green Hornet is a dunce, is not something I'm interested in embracing for the cost of a movie ticket. I think the studio is front loading it with hype in hopes it will get a big opening weekend, before it disappears into oblivion...I hope.

Thanks for the head's up. I am ashamed to admit, I've never seen an episode of the Green Hornet. It never aired in syndication here. I've passed on bootleg videos and DVDs for years waiting for the real thing.

Unfortunately, I don't have a DVR yet, but I may have to blow the dust off of the VCR for this one!

The last time I saw this was when FX aired it all those years ago. Think they had the '66 Batman series too.

Any chance the series will be DVD-released as a tie -in?
WANTED: Dick Grayson SI trousers; gray AJ Mustang horse; vintage RC Batman (Bruce Wayne) head; minty Wolfman tights; mint Black Knight sword; minty Launcelot boots; Lion Rock (pale) Dracula & Mummy heads; Lion Rock Franky squared boots; Wayne Foundation blue furniture; Flash Gordon/Ming (10") unbroken holsters; CHiPs gloved arms; POTA T2 tan body; CTVT/vintage Friar Tuck robes, BBP TZ Burgess Meredith glasses.

Unfortunately not. The Green Hornet series is tied up in as much red tape as the Batman classic series. One interesting difference is that Van Williams STILL gets paid when the Green Hornet show is broadcast. Adam West lost his royalty payments after its third run in syndication back in 1972.
