Who comes back from the dead the most?

i just opened a Fall of the Hulks TP, and SPOILER! General Ross dies!!!!!!

I didnt even know he was alive again.

SO Nick Fury, Ross, Goblin, Cyborg, Doomsday, Who?

    Marvel AND DC.

And nobody who already does that as their gimmick like Ras A Gul, Nitro, Deadman, Savage etc .

I don't think Ross is Dead.

BTW ..., To Answer your Question.
I believe Jean Grey Holds the Death Record.

Hawkman has been dead, rectonned, revived, re-retconned, de-retconned, dead, and alive and retconned again several times.

I'd say the Joker. He was killed off more times back in the 1940s before many of these other characters had been created.

Hawkman was "radioactive" for a long time.....Geoff Johns and James Robinson saved him and made him cool again. But eventually he became "radioactive" again, so much to the point that Jim Starlin's attempt to "fix" the character was quickly aborted. Now it's up to Johns (in Brightest Day) and Robinson (in a new ongoing) to save the Hawk once again....Hopefully no one will f' it up this time 'round

              Interesting question!

I guess another question is which characters actually die and come back, and which ones have just appeared to be dead.

Captain America appears to die quite a bit - though I guess it's just that people have presumed he's been dead most of those times. I can't think of when he actually died.

I would have though Jean Grey was a good bet for actual resurrection type returns.

I googled and found this article on Jean Grey: How many times has Jean Grey died? Alternate Cover

and this thread on most comic deaths:

Doctor Doom seems to have died a lot. He's dead,he's alive,he's taken over somebody else's body.

jwybejr - great one! Half the time Doom's a robot, he can transfer his 'soul' when needed. Yup, lots of deaths there for sure.

Green Arrow has died at least twice...

The Resurrection Man's whole shtick was dying and coming back with a new power- and that was a GREAT series that DC chose to semi-mock in the recent Blackest Night Untold Tales Special. The RM book was really good- plus great art by Jackson Guice.

                          Hmmmm....

It'd be easier to as who HASN'T died and come back yet. (Anybody? Anybody....?) I know Jean Grey is the cliche, and a definite runner for the crown. Do we count clones/retcons/alternate realities/alternate Earths?

No just "normal" Earth Prime kinda stuff. No fake deaths like Daredevil either.

Not mysterious deaths either , Falling off a cliff never to be found ( Sorry Hugo Strange . . .has he EVER been alive??? )

Other than Wolverine I havent read the x men much. I have seen soem cross overs and read some 60s stories.

Jean Grey is teh Phoenix , so her powers are part of her gimmick. Dying and all, like a Phoenix. Before she was just Marvel girl . .eh.

No Jean Gray cant count. unless she had a lot of deaths before she was Phenix. Its like Nitro or something.

How about regular everyday Superpowered beings/

nobody said Hawkeye yet. Doesnt he die a lot.

Ever read that Hulk issue where Marlo( Rick Jones wife) dies? Rick goes to Dr Strange asks Strange to bring Marlo back to life. Strange says NO because she was stabbed to death by a crazy lady not magic, or special space powers or whatever.

Rick asks Strange if hes ever been dead, then his Asian butler, then says "Thats it three out of three people in this room have been dead and returned!" He made a good point.

                            Captain Amazing Public relations man:
" C.A. if you want big fights you need a big Villian!"

Captain Amazing : Uh, then get .. get Death man! "

CA PR Man : " Death Man is dead."

CA : Really? " ( Mystery Men Movie)

Robots like GI Combat or Vison cant count either.

Not too sure about Aliens. Luthor has a good point being Xenophobic in the DC universe. Lots of em !

Something with a funeral. Remeber when the Punisher tried a new flavor of crazy and hunted down and killed Nick Fury? remeber teh Howling Commandoes at the funeral. They laughed. Didnt take it seriously at all, didnt believe it. Till it was done.
