Reading through it again it occurs to me - are they actually negotiating with Ultron or is Bendis just ripping off the ending from "War Games"?

It's an interesting point. Superheroes have ALWAYS been more about the action than the characters.... but back in the day you'd get huge exchanges of dialogue like this.... they'd just happen DURING the fight. Kind of a weird compromise.
