The Wolverine/Ultron fight scene bypass...

I'll bite. If you hate JRjr so much, why are you contributing to his big pile of money in the first place?

^ I'm not.....My point being that I despise his art (wasn't always the case but his style has evolved in to something I can't stomach) and as such I don't feel compelled to purchase books featuring his artwork. But if you seem to enjoy it then feel free to pick up my slack and buy double copies so you can contribute to his large pile of money and at least he won't be losing anything because of my refusal to purchase...
Good god, I didn't realize I'd have to dissect a sentence to make it comprehensible...
ANYWAY.....if you want me to get back on track, about Bendis' writing...How's this...I find his writing for awhile now has been overblown and very very verbose...I suppose in some small way I agree with your original point that there seem to be constant negotiations and not enough action.
IMO (once again IMO)....
Bendis may have been good before on the indy/creator owned stuff or on the smaller characters like Daredevil...But since they handed him the Avengers franchise it been much ado about nothing. And admittedly I've bought quite a but of it but it's always left me wanting more and not in a positive way...Everything seems to lead from one thing into the next with no real resolutions in site...You have to give the reader closure from time to time and I don't get that from Bendis.
Things really started to go downhill with Secret Invasion IMO....it could have been awesome but dissolved in to crap basically..
Everything is talk, talk, talk with Bendis and not enough action...I'm getting more fun out of Brubaker's Secret Avengers than I have with any of Bendis' Avengers books in a long time. I just think it's time to remove him from the franchise entirely....Think OUTSIDE the Box! For the BEST in Repro & Custom Packaging!Comment

Shouldn't someone sit down and talk with him 1st?......Now that my friends IS sarcasmEverything is talk, talk, talk with Bendis and not enough action...I'm getting more fun out of Brubaker's Secret Avengers than I have with any of Bendis' Avengers books in a long time. ^ Nah it's past the talking and negotiation stage....just get him off the Avengers books

Your use of "My share" is the initial problem in that it can easily be interpreted as "The issues I've bought".
You don't have to dissect a sentence if you express yourself less cryptically in the first instance.

Like many of the other opinions in the thread, I think Bendis' verbosity (the huge shadow of David Mamet still hangs over him) really hinges on being paired with the proper artist. JR jr probably isn't necessarily the right fit for Bendis' talky stuff. Atlhough I think Johnnymiic really hit the nail on the head when he mentioned Frank Miller... I think we'd have an entirely different reaction to All Star Batman and Robin if JR jr were drawing it instead of Jim Lee... it would take us a bit closer to the Dark Knight returns stylistic school.
We are in firm agreement over Brubaker's Secret Avengers. Between his scripts and Deodato's art, the mood and style of that book is one of the most enjoyable Marvel is currently putting out. I'm glad they did manage to find a book that took on the momentum of Bendis and Deodato's Dark Avengers.Comment

Maybe some of the artisitic pairings with Bendis' scripts ARE part of the problem....I actually enjoyed his Dark Avengers (with Deodato) but his stuff on other Avengers books with other artists (Yu and Tan) have left me cold. His initial stuff with Cho on Mighty Avengers was good too...There we go! Bravo. A basis for a discussion. Thank you.

Oh c'mon. I think it's pretty obvious from our other interactions outside the thread that I really like Anthony and this little bounce back and forth isn't really that personal. We're just having a difference on semantics here.
I really do respect his opinion and like discussing comics with him when he's not doing the hit and run (buy hey, I'm as guilty of that as anyone else at times).
Plus he's a hell of a stand-up guy, and real mensch ta boot. He's also one of the best darn designers tramping through this forum. He brings the flavour, and has contributed to this community in a HUGE way.
But anyways enjoy...

I'll even spring for the soda...
