I'm happy with the price, it's a nice page with cap in two frames. i've had so many times 200 seemed like 2000, now i wish i just ignored the feeling and bought

I like the line "Todd Mcfarlane is the single most popular comic artist ever". Hmmmmm.

You kinda figured he and Jim lee's work will eventually soar in prices they were the game changers in the late 80's early 90's. McFarlane's layouts and creepy ditkoish Spidey was different at the time although his anatomy was somewhat questionable he still had a style all to his own that many would mimic......Lee was in a league all to himself.

But Liefield's art someday commanding big dollars? Oh dear Lord let's hope not!.........

I only really read Spidey , when Todd drew Him.

It'll happen. The price is about name recognition, not quality.

I guess anything mid 80s and 90s will eventually begin to be collectible, even Liefield's art

Original Comic Book Art + more: Liefeld New Mutants original art fans rejoice?
$500 for a Liefeld recreation ain't bad. I'm guessing the original Cable 1st appearance cover goes for much much more.

The prices will generally reflect the demand for the comics themselves, so I imagine the "keys" like 1st Deadpool and his earliest appearances will be the ones to watch.

These still are fairly impressive asking prices in the $1,000-5,000 range.

Not something I'd ever be willing to pay, but I'm probably not the Liefeld demographic who is coming of age and going gaga for all these current Deadpool comics.

Interesting explanation on why McFarlane Spider-man is so valuable.

Wizard Magazine founder Gareb Shamus is apparently sitting on most of the run...
Todd McFarlane Spider-Man Cover Sells For $71,200 Bleeding Cool Comic Book News and Rumors

Gareb Shamus, friend of Todd McFarlane (Todd drew the cover to Wizard #1) and at one point owned almost all of Todd’s Amazing Spider-Man cover art. He bought it to help Todd be in the position to start Image Comics, and kept it piled in the corner of the Wizard office. The pile is likely worth over a million now
High demand, low availability. (this piece was not one of the Shamus owned covers. He still has all of his)

I'm amazed at all the folks asking for hi-rez scans of it -- and him willing to send them!

He's certainly done weirder stuff....For example, an Oilers fan who was born and raised in Calgary. that there is all kinds of messed up!

Is he allowed back in Calgary?

Hey, Edmonton needs all the Oiler fans it can get -- a lot of us Edmontonians are Habs fans!
