Great Story, Fantastic Art...IMHO the Best Thor Story Arc written.
Well, I like Pollard, too, but I was referring to the Simonson Ragnarok arc that happened in Thor 341-353 or so. Balder died around #341, and by 351 the Bifrost Bridge had shattered and Surtur had forged the Blade of Doom; then the battle between Thor and Jormungandr happened -- in an issue entirely composed of splash pages. Soon thereafter, Thor was touched by Hela who 'permanently' scarred his face so that he had to wear that scale armor that Buscema and Palmer drew so beautifully in the Avengers series of the same time (250s-260s). Classic, awesome stuff.

I always wanted to pick up this mini but never got around to it...

Anyone else see the potential for a DC/Marvel crossover by way of Roy Thomas when they sent the Justice Society off to fight Ragnarok?

It may be that Balder had been dead since #274, then around #342 he escaped from Hela to re-join the ranks of the living.... I'll check my collection soon and report back on this point.

I do find it very intriguing, though, that there was a Ragnarok arc pre-dating Simonson's Asgard-shattering climax. I can't imagine it could have been as visionary or just plain cool as Walt's treatment, but Pollard is a fine artist and I'm sure he did the writing justice.
