I disagree at this Point ...
        He IS A list ...

Since the Beetles Death .., Booster's got like 3 ( and a Variant ) different Action figures now, as well as 3 different painted JLU Figures has been on JLU And Brave and the Bold.

He's Also in 3 Monthly Books right Now ... 3 of them.

If this doesn't make him an A lister I dunno what does ..., I know He's not an A+++ Like say Superman ..., But He's gotta be an A- atleast right now.

This will incite even more trolling....

Booster is going to be on Smallville.

I don't think he's an A-lister...I consider Superman, Batman and WW A-List, and Flash, GL, and Aquaman B-List. Although GL is now A-list. And Booster is now B-list. But that's just me.

Hollywood feature film, hit TV series or my mom being able to identify him out of a line-up.

Except for Booster, I consider all of those guys A-list...Yeah Aquaman never gets any respect it seems but he's well-known and A-list despite the fact that he doesn't get any respect. Flash and Green Lantern are also highly-identifiable logo-wise by the general public so that gets 'em an A in my book (although Flash is sometimes mis-identified as Shazam and GL is sometimes called Green Hornet )

But I think he WAS; way back in the early 80's. Or at least a B+. He sorta got pushed back in the "grrr! I'm angry!!!!" 90's.

It depends on how you define A list.

Among the crowd that shows up at Comic-Con, I could almost buy the argument that GL and Flash are A-list, but to the general public, I'm afraid not.

Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman and Spider-Man and Hulk are so much better known than any other characters, including the Wolverine and Iron-Man and Aquaman.

My 81-year-old dad and my 3-year-old great nephew can pick out Superman, Batman and Spider-Man, but they would stumble a bit with the others.

Any character that is regularly confused with another character is not A-list in my book.

Among the general public, The Joker, Penguin, Alfred the Butler, Lois Lane and Jimmy Olson all have more name recognition than than the majority of our favorite characters.

Hey I love Green Lantern and Booster Gold and like Flash a lot, but they're not A list. To the general public, all three are closer to obscure than A-list.

                      I beg to differ

Pretty sure Captain America is on that list as well, though I doubt people could tell you anything about him.

Also pretty sure that Iron Man is now on or approaching that list due to the movies.

Though maybe not, since I'd've thought Aquaman was on there too. He's got recognition as 'underwater guy who talks to fish' even though nobody knows his origin.

Back to Emerald Twilight plans, in that CBR/Urban Legends article, there is a link in a forums to this interview with Gerard Jones:

                          Fanzing 39 - October 2001 - Gerard Jones Interview

I used to contribute to Fanzing. Good stuff there!

Very interesting interview! I think the lesson here is that you can only write for yourself and your passions and interests and not anticipate what the fans want. I really enjoyed Mosaic very much (and Trouble with Girls was a fun title), but past the initial launch, Green Lantern and all the other spinoffs felt quite mediocre, particularly Guy Gardner's solo series.

Fanzing: I notice in your proposal that, in the end of #50, Hal quits being Green Lantern to instead become "The Protector". What were your plans beyond #50? Was there going to be a new central character, a la Kyle Rayner, or would the book follow Hal?

GJ: First, I hasten to say that "The Protector" was a working title! We were going to do better than that! But yeah, there was going to be a new, younger GL, which I'd originally preferred to doing a Hal who was too burdened by the ball and chain of continuity. Hal would have popped in and out, maybe gotten his own miniseries, and then maybe or maybe not have become a GL again. I had various thoughts about the down-the-road story. But issue 51 would have been the introduction of a new GL, a completely new character, who was still in the vaguest development when it all ended.
