Cast SUPERMAN For The New Movie!

If the Smallville concept was originally intended to be the launching pad for a new Superman movie series with Tom Welling I'd be fine with it. But it wasn't and the series has had a respectable 10-year run by going off in its own direction. Having Welling don the super-suit now on the silver screen would be jumping the shark IMO. Have him wear it in the final season, even if it's just the last episode, and close the chapter on that portion of the Superman mythos. But let's not try and blur the line anymore between the TV series and a new potential film franchise by having Welling wear the cape.

It's such an "important" role. I'd almost have to say an unknown would be safer considering expectations. I honestly can't think of anyone who could pull it off frm the current stable of stars.
