yeah, I read this issue today. the whole story line just does not fit into continuity. I have been reading Batman for decades and have back issuesa nd reprints going back even further and the way Bruce acts in this story arc is totally out of character. it's like he is having man love for this new character...name escaping me at the moment...goat mask? anyone? doesn't matter. not really who this guy is anway.

Again, an example of DC letting anyone with a "name" take a crap (or in this case, a whiz) all over their characters. They let Frank Miller, why not Kevin Smith?

Can you imagine the DC of 1980 letting Len Wein do something like this? Like Wein reveals the bat that flew in Bruce's study window that faithful night dropped some guano on Bruce's head, and THAT'S what inspired him to be Batman?

Ugh. It's a semi-funny moment, but why go there?

Kevin Smith is a hack IMO...I don't care what "street cred" he's built up in the fanboy community....I refuse to buy in to his hype, which only results in lackluster stories that are notoriously LATE.

Looks like Frank Miller doesn't quite have carte blanche anymore (or he has realized his creator owned stuff is much more lucrative via Hollywood)... Batman Holy Terror is no longer a Batman project.

rank Miller has told the LA Times that the lead will be called The Fixer and is now a gun-toting soldier.

He’s been trained as special ops and when his city is attacked all of a sudden all the pieces fall into place and all this training comes into play. He’s been out there fighting crime without really having his heart in it — he does it to keep in shape. He’s very different than Batman in that he’s not a tortured soul. He’s a much more well-adjusted creature even though he happens to shoot 100 people in the course of the story.
