The guys a certifiable nut! I know some say it was an act, but I think he really flipped the nutzo switch completely over to the insane side!
There has to be better choices out there. Any poindexter like actor can play Bruce Banner well enough for the short screen time he'll get in the film. Jon Cryer, the guy who plays Sheldon on Big Bang, Jeff Goldblum.....tons of choices before they need to feed this wackjobs ego anymore.
I don't think he's really a nut - I think Casey Affleck and him made a insane-o fake documentary with gross out humor and stunts a la "Borat" that hasn't gotten distribution yet.
Even at the end of that crazy Letterman appearance just before they cut to commercial you can see him break character - he whips off his glasses and springs up to shake Letterman's hand as if to thank him.
Computer animation has come in and done what no one else has been able to do... kill the body builder who can't act.
Seriously.
Hulk is tailor-made for the body builder who can't act demographic. It's a role where they get paid to be big, move slow, and hit things. Plus, they get painted.
I cry at night when I think of all those poor body builder who can't act actors standing in line at the soup kitchen for their met-rx bars, barely making ends meet as they appear at conventions as "So and So from American Gladiators", unable to feed their rippling muscles, benchpressing cinderblocks for loose change on street corners... all because computers stepped in and made them obsolete.
