Interesting clem....with this, it sounds like Marvel may be guilty for being too cheap.

Interesting shot back across the bow at Marvel. Obviously the two were having trouble reaching a deal and neither side wants to look like the bad guy in this scenario. If I had to venture a guess, I would say the Norton camp came looking for too much money. I would not want the job of balancing the bottom line on a project like the Avengers. The number of effects houses that will need to be employed to handle the CGI shots alone will be monstrous. Combine that with all of these multi-contract deals with stars from other films (PLUS trying to retain them for sequels)......No thanks. Now I'm certain Robert Downey Jr. and the actors for Cap and Thor were all contractually bound to the Avengers when they signed on to do their solo films. But Norton came into the Hulk franchise when Marvel wasn't sure they could salvage the jolly green giant. So I'm sure his deal was solely based on that movie alone. As it was, the "reboot" didn't fare any better at the box office than the much flawed Lee original. So, from a business perspective, Norton didn't have any leverage at the negotiating table. I think if I was his agent, I would have taken whatever deal Marvel gave me and been thankful to get another shot at a role that would only be minor anyway.

Hmm...too bad, no matter who's to blame. And I thought Iron Man 2 was fantastic. Stark began to believe his own press. Clearly, in the time between the first flicks, he did a ton of good as Iron Man, and it wen to his head. He got his but handed to him, and it brought him back down to earth.

While overall the second Hulk movie was better (continuity and story wise)...nothing beats the first Hulk's scene in the desert sand dunes battling the tanks...nothing...that sequence was unbelievable...there's absolutely nothing in the sequel that matches this...the CGI is just superior....
I think when they made the second one they didn't want to make him so friggin big and that he would be a bit vulnerable. The second one left me really satisfied...Comment

* I won't miss Ed Norton. I thought he did a credible job, but there are other actors out there that can do just as well and won't be a jerk about it.
* I've always thought former WWE and current UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar would make a great "flesh and bones" Hulk. But I was fine with the CGI one.
* I don't think Marvel can be blamed for anything having to do with the Spider-Man movies, since Sony owns the rights, not Marvel.
* I'm still really looking forward to the Avengers! As long as Robert Downey Jr. and Samuel Jackson are in it, I'm fine with any other cast changes.--

Norton wasn't DeNiro in Hulk by any stretch but it's just nice to see
consistency in sequels/tie-ins."No. No no no no no no. You done got me talkin' politics. I didn't wanna'. Like I said y'all, I'm just happy to be alive. I imagine the movie won't suffer to much. Personally I loved Edward Norton's performance, but I can't say they won't pick someone better.
Honestly, I think the Hulk is an awful choice for a character in The Avengers. He was in like, 3 issues before he was replaced with Cap? Ultimates? Was there any Avenger story that used the character proficiently?Comment
