Oh, and in the Atom book...wasn't the entire world made aware of his secret identity when he was thought dead? During his time in the Amazon (Sword of the Atom). Jean Loring wrote a book about him, right? Or has that been retconned somewhere? I thought it was known as well during the Ryan Choi Atom book, at least to the folk of Ivy Town.

Because the plot of the Special hinges on the fact, and I think the writer ignored it, choosing to make Ray Palmer's id known only to a select few.

Deadman's coming off as a pretty stupid puppet (did he not pay ANY attention to anything that's happened since he died? He had access to the Afterlife, to gods, goddesses, mystics, heaven & hell. And now he's the Ring Puppet? meh).

Yeah Deadman was always the one to clue heroes in on what was going on....now he's without a clue

As good as I thought Blackest Night was, this is just as bad. Sort of like 52 then Countdown. DC always strikes out in the second inning.

Blackest Night was a straight forward story though....Brightest Day is a disjointed mess. One too many times to the well with this weekly book concept (or biweekly in this case) IMO. Actually, the book is just weak

Enjoying Generation Lost and the Aquaman stuff. Also enjoyed the Green Lantern issues with Lobo. Not a total loss by any means for me.

OK...22 issues in....2 more to go before this is all wrapped up. I hafta say....I have no clue what the heck is going on in the series overall. I've never read such a disjointed mess of a mini-series...Well maybe Countdown. Seriously, besides the Aquaman bits which should have just been written as it's own mini-series from the get-go the rest of the stuff has been totally uninteresting to me. I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop but it looks like the big payoff is going to be blah IMO. Usually by this point of a series you can see where the writing team is taking it but I can't make heads or tails of what the big picture is supposed to be...

Anyone? Bueller?

I'm right with you Anthony. I don't get what's going on with the White Lantern and frankly at this point I don't care.

Berganza, DC's new executive editor, evidently said something big was coming in the Brightest Day finale at the Chicago Con this weekend, but I'll believe it when I see it.

Some of the art has been decent. I thought the Hawkman and Martian Manhunter stories were mediocre at best. I enjoyed what there was of the Aquaman storyline, but really would have liked to have had a series.

In my opinion, Brightest Day shouldn't have been a bi-weekly series but rather a marketing plan to promote new series for Aquaman, Hawkman, Martian Manhunter, Firestorm and Deadman.

Fans could have bought the series they wanted and we could be at least two story arcs into the series. As it stands, only Aquaman has any momentum from the series, although I've heard James Robinson is going to do a Hawkman mini or series.

I really think a cool Martian Manhunter series could be done with him being a Fox Mulder or Men-in-Black-type agent investigating crazy crimes or occurrences that deal with aliens. He might have to be powered down a bit but that could easily be explained away.

I really think some of the writers miss the boat by not utilizing the professions of the heroes more in the series.

I am trying to play catch up with my books lately ..., just haven't gotten to these yet.

I was reading the last 5 issue of Green Lantern the other day, and stuff happened, that disapeared in the next issue, then other stuff shows up. Sorta bummed me out, because this stuff Obviously took Place in brightest Day I believe.

there really hasn't been much if any Green Lantern material in Brightest Day since very early on in the series. GL,GL Emerald Warrior and GL Corps have been tied together some but you haven't missed any GL material from Brightest Day.

I seemed to have missed the Battle with Flash as the Parallax ..., and the Krona Snatching the Predator Entity from the Sapphires somewhere's.

Maybe not as Much as The Sinestro War ..., and Probably Never as Much as Blackest Night ..., But I am so there, and think it will be Fantastic.

Barry was the Paralax in the Last few Pages of an Issue of GL ...
Then when I got the Next Issue ... He was suddenly Not, and didn't know what Happened. It's like the Entire Battle was missed. ... Perhaps I missed an Issue of GL Somewhere's ?.

BTW .. I'm there for a Generation Lost Monthly ..., or JLA Euor ..., or whatever they wanna call it.
