    I think you're right...on both counts...Countdown is a waste of $2.99 every week...and yet I continue to buy it...why oh why?

      ....POST Crisis Kamandi.... *shudder*

Didin't Kamandi become someone else at the end of Crisis. I want to say Tommy Tomorrow but it's been a while since I'd read Crisis so I'm not sure.

Kamandi was a part of a whole weird post-apocalypse thru-line DC did in the 70's. "Hercules Unchained" had a LOT of refrences to the disaster mentioned in Kamandi. (Maybe. They were pretty vague about it.) And I think they made refrence in another book too.

^^^ Right on Kamandi being Tommy Tomorrow at the end of crisis. The two characters really could be earth 1 and 2 counterparts of each other.

There's been references to the "Great Disaster" in recent DC books, specifically "Countdown", so Kamandi could be making a comeback...

I suspect he will be, because DC seems to be putting a lot more attention toward the Jack Kirby properties than they have in years. We've got the Death of the New Gods mini on the way, and then Buddy Blanks and his grandson show up in Countdown with Buddy in communication with Brother Eye.

I'd love to see Kamandi return in the original Kirby format. Still, a part of me can't shake the feeling that Kamandi could also be an awesome Vertigo book.

Grant Morrison has said that "Final Crisis" will include just about everybody in the DC Universe in some way, shape or form....so hopefully we see appearances from Anthro (the first boy) to Kamandi (the last).

I've actually heard rumors that Final Crisis actually begins with Anthro and the final scene includes Kamandi.

Anthro has popped up in the last 2 issues of Booster Gold in a cameo.

AAAGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!!! NNNNNNOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! Don't even joke about that, someone might hear you!

Although, during the 90's when Vertigo became a dumping ground for old DC characters I'm kinda surprised they didn't do Kamandi. Mebbe 'cos of the miniseries they did?

Vertigo is still a playground for old DC Character concepts...

Funnily enough, I seem to have mis-recalled this Dail H for Hero revival being a Vertigo mini. It certainly had the "Vertigo" vibe to it.

HERO was a nice concept...it was a "hot" book but very short lived...weird.
