I'm baffled why everyone isn't picking up on this. It's like "Age of Apocalypse" or "House of M". Her quest appears to be restoring the original time-line that she keeps flashing on... thus saving Paradise Island and the Amazons.

If folks don't like it, chill out, grab some of these awesome Showcase volumes and read those for the next 12 months! I bet you discover some Wonder Woman stories that are more to your taste.

Someone out there in the world of trades there is the Wonder Woman you love! How about posting threads about your favourite WW stories from the past? Is there really any point in complaining about a book you weren't buying to begin with? All that matters is how you vote with your $$$ in deciding whether or not DC keeps her in pants or not. If you weren't reading Wonder Woman prior, it's not likely you're going to start now that she's wearing pants right? So no harm no foul.

Just think of all the pages of this thread that could be devoted to promoting comics YOU REALLY LIKE!! Y'all like COMICS right?

I think that sums this up nicely.

DC is crapping on the one true iconic female superhero to artifically create an "event." It alienates her long time fans and many will quit reading, some for good, and once the hype fades the new readers that had no interest in the character will move on to the next trendy event and there will be less readers than what they started with.

I collect a lot of Wonder Woman related stuff. Dolls, action figures, comics, t-shirts, DVDs and video games. Any products that feature the re-imagined WW I will not touch. That's my protest of this mess. Does it make a difference? Probably not. But I will not support this.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

it's time for a dallas Reboot to the DC universe everything that has happened since March 1985 (ie the last issues before Crisis On infinite earths issue 1) "was all a dream". Pick the character you want to attest the dream/nightmares to I say blame Hector Hammond or Brainwave. bring back the old multiverse and start over AGAIN

So what Wonder Woman stories do you like and why are you not out pimpin' that version instead? Who should be writing and drawing Wonder Woman?

What trades should we be reading and what merch should we be buying instead of the Wonder Woman with pants?

Because obviously not enough folks were buying the Wonder Woman comic to begin with, otherwise they wouldn't pull stunts to try and up sales.

And HOW DOES PUTTING HER IN PANTS PANDER TO THE SEX APPEAL OF MALE FANBOYS OVER BLUE SPANKY SHORTS?

Even Linda Carter's iconic Wonder Woman was both strong and sexy. Sexuality is a form of empowerment that many contemporary feminists embrace.

I know... the Wonder Woman direct to DVD cartoon DC put out is a perfect example of updating the character and yet staying true to it.

I look at what's going on in the Superman books, where they've been doing the Secret origins mini, and such. I saw them bring back Superboy without really bringing back Superboy (no famous Superboy in Smallville), reconnecting LEGION to the Superman mythos, and pretty much rebooting the character to the pre-crisis status without really doing so.

They took the "best" stuff and threw it in and the "who cares" stuff and ignored it. It works. And this is coming from a huge John Byrne reboot fan.

My point is you can take a character and distill it to the essence and them elaborate.

What do we as the general public know about Wonder Woman?

                1. Made of clay on Paradise Island.
                2. Grew up with Amazons
                3. US pilot crash lands on Island.
                4. Pilot is Steve Trevor
                5. Won a bullets and bracelets contest to be Wonder Woman and escort Steve Trevor back "man's world"
                6. Stays in America because she falls for him, fights crime and rescues him alot.
                7. Wears starspangled bottom, and red (golden eagled) top.
                8. uses lasso of truth
                9. has invisible jet

Everything else is gravy the writer can play with.

Just another take on this, here's a blog from a comic shop owner on the new WW costume.

In that same vein, you could start a new thread. We have every right to complain and there's nothing wrong with a few threads devoted to venting on something we don't like. Just a suggestion. No harm no foul.

                        This was done on purpose.

This really isn't any different then Age of apocalypse which was an awesome story. Why not just give it a shot? It might surprise you. I'm more then willing to bet everything will go back to normal in due time. This is why I didn't freak out when Bruce Wayne died. He's on his way back already. I knew he would be. Its the same with Wonder Woman.

You honestly can't say that I don't post threads on stuff I like fairly often.

I bet you could make an awesome Wonder Woman costume out of foam core!

I just came across this and thought it was funny. I didn't pick up on the fact that her new costume is almost exactly like 90's Superboy till I saw this.
