Wonder Woman's Costume Change-Fallout From The Press!

A very good article. Attach links and quotes in this thread!

Wonder Woman's New Costume Is Criminal; Spandex Panties Rule
    SUZI PARKER

"Some have questioned the practicality of Wonder Woman's old mega-snug costume for fighting crime without her breasts falling out. Hello, she's a superhero! If she can capture diabolical masterminds, surely she can keep the girls tethered."

More criticism akin to mine...which is:a SMALL outfit is more appropriate for
a wild warrior Amazon than a practical one.

Honestly ..., I dunno What DC is thinking on this.
... Man, I just think the suit is Horrible, Hell the Whole Damn new Direction of the character is as well. I hope She doesn't make it into anything I am reading. This IS worse than Dick as Batman.

That was a good article. Thanks for posting.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

There's already a lot of backlash on this...I really don't see this lasting longer than 12 issues (and that's how long JMS usually stays on a book lately anyway...)

Her outfit looks like what the average teenager wore in the mid-80's. It's an odd concept. I'm waiting for her to break into the Thriller dance...

I have to say though that this has generated an enormous amount of press and controversy...When was the last time she got such coverage? Probably when she cut her hair during that short Simonson stint.

The outfit will go to the wayside soon enough, then we will be stuck with the re-written origin. Please just leave the classics alone.

I didn't know about the new origin. That's pathetic.

I think getting an updated makeover would be fine, but a massive overhaul where you lose the essence of the character is flawed. You still have to have product recognition and there is none here.

Oh yeah; especially in THIS case. Isn't she pretty much WonderGIRL now?

^ Pretty much....and former "Wonder Girl" Donna Troy is being the Wonder Woman archetype over in JLA.....Very confusing

DC has done so much continuity damage since Infinite Crisis they either need a hard reboot, or just come out and admit they have no continuity and anything goes.

The later may be the better option. It may result in a return to the classic versions of the characters, and give creators a chance to play around with the initial concepts.

Why oh why does DC feel the need to keep crapping all over "the Trinity"?

Superman hasn't been "Superman" for a while, too busy being Commander El and messing with the Kryptonians...he's no longer the star of "Action Comics". Now JMS is going to have him walking across the US in the "Grounded" arc.

Batman was "killed" twice apparently (once in RIP and once in Final Crisis ) and has been replaced by Dick Grayson under the cowl. Oh wait...looks like he's on his way back after being lost in time but all signs point to Dick Grayson keeping the mantle for awhile longer (Shades of Steve Rogers/Bucky/Captain America!). And he got kicked out of "Detective".

Wonder Woman finally got her numbering restored, after Dan DiDiot said he wouldn't, then back-pedalled and said he would if he got enough postcards (Dude must be desperate for mail ) But in the same issue, her history was rebooted and her costume changed, all for the sake of new incoming writer JMS (him again!)

                            BAH!

The new direction isn't permanent. The goal is for her to restore the timeline and I think in doing so it will merge her former self with everything she's learned on this new journey. I think its pretty interesting. It's different. Most comic fans hate different. Including myself most the time. But since I don't read Wonder Woman that often, I'm willing to give this new direction a try. I think she's gotten stale over the years and this shakes it up a little. I still don't like the Jacket. Its too Black Canary. However, I like the rest of the suit.

And I have to agree completely with Earth 2 Chris's post above. Everytime DC puts out another "Crisis", I groan and die a little inside and wonder what they're going to do this time to foul things up.
