^ I seem to remember some story about Supes' birthday being on February 29th (Leap Day) as the explanation as to why he wasn't as old as he should be It was probably a 70s Bates story as opposed to earlier Silver Age Swan/Boring stuff. I'd have to research it...

Yes you're absolutely correct about the 29th being his birthday. I did attend his 50th birthday bash back in 88 in NYC and that was the date. Yes I think you're right about Bates. I also remember hearing John Bryne mentioning that in an interview.

        Really?!

Without feminism, we'd likely not be discussing WW at all. She's remained a character in the public eye (and really, the only iconic superheroine, regardless of her book sales) precisely because of feminist interest in & promotion of her in the '70s.

Because, y'know, Sue Storm was so engaging as originally written..

Regarding WW's Thomas revamp, wasn't the bodice eagle also changed for licensing/merchandising purposes? It's one of the few costume changes that didn't bother me much.

Whatever happened to the actual real world Wonder Woman foundation that Jeanette Kahn set up that year ('81)?

I look at the bodice change as the same as the new look batman versus the earlier 50's black bat symbol. a smaller change is fine but it still evokes the character for me. This change is more like the blue and red superman set

Just FYI, here's a bit from Titan's Tower, regarding JMS talking to IGN about how this change isn't "permanent", and it won't really affect Donna or Cassie:

It will probably be written as if neither of them exist in this timeline and when Diana puts things right, their places in the DCU will be restored.
