What I don't get about that article, is that in one sentence it states that Diana has been wearing the same costume since her debut. But then it mentions the mod white outfit, acknowledging that there have been previous attempts to update her look. Plus there are the variations of the star-spangled outfit - the skirt, the biker shorts, bikini bottom...eagle vs stylized "W" logo...changing multiple times between laced sandals and boots. She also shows up in more of a classic-looking Amazon robe, her formal wear for Ambassador duties, and that ensemble from the Mike Deodato years when Artemis took over the role. They also revamped the all-white outfit twice in recent years, during the Walt Simonson "Who is Wonder Woman?" storyline and while working as Agent Diana Prince.

Am I reading that right or does it say that this will be an alternate history? Will this be part of her regular continuity?

Exactly, you take way what makes Wonder Woman, Wonder Woman and she becomes the character in name only.

They could also have easily updated her costume and still stayed true to the character. If they wanted to "toughen her up" they could have played up the amazon warrior aspect. Like the Wonder Woman Trinity costume. But instead they put her in an outfit that looks like something the XMEN would have worn in the 90s.

It sucks that DC feels the need to crap on Wonder Woman yet again but I can't imagine this lasting more than a year or two. Like you said, if she can survive the 60s mod spy girl mess, she can survive this.

I don't mind it. WW is an ambassador. She should have a wardrobe. Even when it comes to doing the Super. The jacket won't last, but it's about time she put some pants on.

First the out of context spanking pic and now this. Are you trying to bait me? I dislike the new outfit. You may or may not. Agree to disagree type of thing. I'm not going to argue and I'm not going to get drawn into a discussion of the societal sexism reflected in many of the comics of the time period. That's getting too close to politics, in my opinion.

That's the problem with making a "hip" "trendy" "edgy" outfit. It instantly becomes cliched and dated. Wonder Woman's costume is classic and iconic. The let's put a jacket on super heroes phase was already cringeworthy and dated by the mid 90s.

I shouldn't get too excited....JMS will eventually leave the book after all his big plans fall through (that's his M.O. the last several years) and Wonder Woman will revert to status quo. If she can survive I Ching and the mod outfits she can survive this travesty.
