My continued interest will probably hinge on who/what he fights and how that's handled. If they puke out some hybrid of Peter Parker meets Smallville I'll probably pass. I need badass villains; not teen angst.
I don't hate the character, but I do hate that DC clings to the philosophy that more than one active hero of the same name is problematic. If the only thing memorable about a story is who got needlessly killed, learn the lesson and take a different approach.

All good points. While not my favorite version of Blue Beetle I could see something like this working on T.V. Unfortunately, we will likely not be the audience that they are marketing - so it might be more about the teen angst angle of things. Which may be good for our kids, but not so good for us.

I dunno, mate. That teen and tweenage demographic is a pretty powerful thing.
Interesting to see how they translated the armour into live action. I thought they would go for something a little more "organic" looking than Iron Man-ish.
I dunno . . . from that pic, if you'd said he was guest-starring on Power Rangers, I'd have believed it, too.
Go! Go! Power Rangers!
It totally does have a cheesy Power Rangers villian look to it.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...
laugh it up gang, but there very well may be a LEGAL reason why it HAS to be Jaime and not Ted.
apparently in the 40s Fox Features Syndicate created a Blue Beetle Radio Show for a cookie company, and gave them broadcast rights INTO PERPETUITY.
this is why Ted never showed up on JLU.
now, they can PUBLISH Ted, but DC is in the process of creating an entertainment brand, and they are looking for properties that they can translate into other media.
which means Ted is right out, due to the previous agreement.
So, they created Jaime, who they own completely, and own all rights to, and they can market and promote any way they see fit.
Looking for Green Arrow accessories, Doctor Who Sonic Screwdriver, and Japanese Popy Megos (Battle Cossack and France, Battle of the Planets, Kamen Rider, Ultraman) and World Heroes figures
If they give him a Zord and he fights giant rubber suited monsters I will totally watch it. If they go the tween angst route I'll pass.
