Dislike the movie al you want (I do too) it was not exactly a box office flop
It did not meet expectations and YES it made most of it's money opening weekend / week and word of mouth hurt it and the franchise afterward

So it was probably Bane popping up in multiple venues that gave Dixon the dough to buy the house....not just Batman and Robin....that seems more likely

Add up all the licensing associated with Batmand and Robin as well, T-shirts, Action Figures, Fast Food, backpacks, etc. Then you take into consideration all the other shows he's appeared... Batman TAS, The Batman, Brave and Bold and all the associated product licensing for all those different incarnations. The royalties do add up. Good for Dixon, particularly in an age where the comics companies can unceremoniously dump artists and writers without any thought at all.

Hopefully he got the check for the Birds of Prey TV show too, and sock it into his retirement fund.

You see too many creators hitting hard times later in life.

The Banshee episode was good but as mentioned earlier it felt rushed.
It also did have some parts that didn't make sense but then again the whole show is about an alien with super powers and meteor rocks that cause all sorts of mutations and havoc so....
I STILL love Smallville and this is probably my favorite season ever so far.

Yes.

Yeah, that's what I meant. Not just the movie itself, but Bane's inclusion in the movie led to hundreds of licensed products with Bane on them, which meant more $$$ for Chuck. And of course Bane appeared before on BTAS, and had an action figure, so there was some mullah from that too. Heck Bane is now considered a big league Batman villain. He stuck. He's in the Lego Batman video game, and all over T-shirts in that form.
