The Brightest Dozen

Just finished it today and I was hoping that a few more were brought back, too.

Deadman has the only White lantern ring, which is going to be significant. Wonder if he'll be able to raise the dead with it, if only temporarily, a'la Kid Eternity?

And hey, with all that raising the dead stuff, you would think that Kid Eternity would have been a factor somewhere...not to mention a truly underated character that needs brought back, The Resurrection Man (a totally great series you should look for if you haven't read it).

Just read the real thing....FANTASTIC! Compared to say, Final Crisis, Johns packed in a lot of story beats in this issue and you didn't need a translator or intepreter to figure them all out.

Why Max Lord? that's interesting.. and what about the non hero people the black lanterns killed?

with osiris back..is he powered?

Given the fact that Giffen's weekly Justice League series starts up soon, who else would be the Big Bad that would cause Booster, Captain Atom, Fire, Ice et al to band together?

Plus: Wonder Woman no longer a murderer.

And yeah, Osiris came back powered. Just in time for the rumoured "War of Marvels".

Yeah, I hope there is a showdown between Red Robin and Boomerbutt. I think son of Boomerang was killed recently. Can't remember which book.

Blackest Night Flash #3 Sr. killed Jr. by putting a boomerang through his heart.

And MAX being back ..., goes against the WW book .., and really doesn't make sense.... That Shazam! Dude shouldn't be back either..., he was severed from his Ring as well..., and went back into nothingness.

I didn't notice the pants on Martian Manhunter until you mentioned it. Yeah, It's like long pants on the Thing. Just doesn't work for me.

The rings being severed doesn't have anything to do with the new resurrections. it was just a way to get rid of the Blank Lanterns. The Black Lanterns — to my understanding — were more a physical manifestation of the grief/or emotion left behind to the living not an actual re-animated corpse. More of a living nightmare version of the character created by the memories of the people they appeared to.

The new Lanterns are raised after a certain group of heroes who have come back to life finally defeat Nekron with Hal being the central character of that group.

Basically, the door to the afterlife was opened by Nekron and the heroes and villains that wanted to come back to life or had some unfinished business to attend to found a way to come back. I guess Max and Osiris had other stuff to do.

Also, I could be wrong. There may be other resurrections down the line, but that was not the indication I got from the book.

The JLA-JSA crossover that's coming up in a month or so is supposed to be centered around Jade, Obsidion and Alan Scott. I hope they don't get rid of Alan.

Maybe a resurrected Osiris will lead to a revived (and good) Isis...one of few decent things to come out of 52. Isis would be a good character if they dump the Black Adam baggage - don't believe she could carry a series, maybe a mini or JLA role.

I've always felt that DC did know what they wanted to accomplish with Owen....hero or villain. Now that's not a problem...I think it's fitting that Captain BOOMERANG has returned from the dead.

Boomer has died and been resurrected once before already. Most forget Waid killed off most of the classic Rogues in Underworld Unleashed and then brought them back a few years later in Flash.

So I guess Mary is through being super evil **** Mary Marvel? That was just WRONG.

^ yes Isis and Adam are statues which was touched on in the Shazam blackest night issue. and Mary and Billy are powerless. I hope they reboot them, as much as i like billy Batson/shazam comic, i want a serious version
