Archie comics

Although Archie & the gang are essentially the same characters, they don't seem to have the exact same feel as the classic stories.
The artwork is really lacking in the modern era issues. It almost looks like they kept the same artist they have always had but he just got too shaky to draw well anymore.
My favorite Archie era(s) is the late 50's through the 70's. After that the art starts to suffer. The early digests were fantastic. So thick and chock full of really early Archie reprints (40's & up).
Still, you gotta give credit where credit is due. Archie has managed to survive for over 60 years in a dying media.
I'll still pick up nice condition back issues when I can find them for a steal.

My daughter has "discovered" Archie, so now I make sure I get a digest here or there for her.

I subscribed to the Wedding Issues because of a post here I think but they got lost when I moved recently so I never got to read them and I think I only have about 4 of them somehow.

I may go buy the collected graphic novel. I think I saw they put them all into one book. But I can't buy it for 2 weeks...

They used to be my favorite comic. I had a comic box nearly full with them but my wife threw them in the dumpster during one of our moves and they are Gone. I have some of the digests left.

Alas, simpler times. I empathize with The Toyroom.

If that is the case, you really do need to run out and spend nine bucks on one of the Archie Comics 50's Collected Editions for her.

The RTV channel started showing the 1968 Archies cartoon at noon everyday and I've been dvr'ing it for my eight year old daughter, who loves it. Been watching it after school BEFORE Hannah Montana!

But she keeps asking me one question I really can't answer: Why do they let Reggie in the band when he's such a mean jerk?

Veronica is the spoiled rich kid, she only uses Reggie to make Archie jealous.

I told her it's because there are only 5 kids in all of Riverdale and they have no choice.

Friend of mine in the industry just told me Stan Lee will be doing a project for Archie. Its called Stan Lee Presents:.....not sure what hes presenting, and my buddy wouldnt tell me. I was a little worried though as he was snickering a lot.
