Wow! Where to start? From his seminal work at Charlton Comics to his legendary team-ups with Neal Adams on Batman and Green Lantern/Green Arrow to his DC editorialship during the 80s bringing us such stuff as Crisis On Infinite Earths.....a class act all the way.Think OUTSIDE the Box! For the BEST in Repro & Custom Packaging! -
wow, loved his Charlton stuff and his early DC work especially. RIP.You must try to generate happiness within yourself. If you aren't happy in one place, chances are you won't be happy anyplace. -Ernie BanksComment

I corresponded with him recently, asking about his Mego artwork. He was very gracious with his time and responses, but unfortunately, he didn't recall much about the various projects he did for Mego. But nontheless, it was a thrill to get an email from one of my heroes. I only wish I had the chance to meet him in person.
I read Rob's blog on his Aquaman Shrine, and I have to say I agree completely with his estimation of Giordano's being the quintessential version of the DC characters. His style and storytelling was solid and dynamic at the same time. By all accounts he was one of the best editors, and nicest guys, ever to work in comics.
Comics are a lot less fun today.

Oh no. I was just thinking about him the other day while reading some back issues. He was always one of my favorite artists and not just as an inker. He was just as good at penciling.
Sad, sad news. Almost as bad as when I heard Curt Swan died.

I plan, very very soon, to write Al Feldstein. I would hate to miss out on getting a chance at his Autograph.
I already did once, at Pittsburgh in 2008, I'd hate to miss out altogether.Looking for Green Arrow accessories, Doctor Who Sonic Screwdriver, and Japanese Popy Megos (Battle Cossack and France, Battle of the Planets, Kamen Rider, Ultraman) and World Heroes figuresComment

Sad news indeed. Giordano was a wonderful artist, he had a way of making everyone he inked looked clean & polished. And his women were just beautiful!
And the work he did at both Charlton & DC as Editor produced some of if not THE most memorable comics- from Captain Atom & Blue Beetle, to a terrific run on Aquaman... The Human Target...on & on.
A true comic legend, RIP!Comment

He always seemed to bring out the best in whomever he inked.
It seemed like he inked ever DC cover in the late 1970s and early 1980s.
Loved his inks on Adams, of course, but he did a great job on Garcia Lopez, Rich Buckler, Irv Novick, Don Newton, Ross Andru and so many others. Even Byrne on the Man of Steel mini series.
Like others said he was a true artist. I loved his pencils, too. And as great an artist as he was probably as great an editor.Comment
