    *Comic Book Spoiler*

I do appreciate the fact that they changed a couple of the aspects of the story to make it more palatable to a mainstream audience.

Originally it was revealed that Big Daddy was as big a fanboy as KickAss and the rest, and had just made up the ex-Cop/murdered wife thing because he's a ****** who wanted to be Batman.

KickAss also didn't get the girl because she actually had a realistic reaction to him totally lying to her the entire time about being Gay and stalking her.

While that kind of twist works in playing against the form of the comic and reader expectations, I think for the movie version the audience needed something to root for in the end.

Watched this last night, and I liked it a LOT more than I expected. Despite it's over-the-top violence and language, it has a lot of heart. I was really invested in the characters. I agree with Scott about the exploration of the psycho Batman thing. Here are the logical extensions of a "real world" Batman and Robin. I know Hit Girl goes around smoking people, but I think it does prove that a young Robin could work in movies.

Cage's Adam West had me rolling on the couch. Great stuff. I think this is the best movie he's made in a LONG time.

This is the first thing I've seen Mark Strong in, that I can think of. I think he will be great as Sinestro.

Too bad this is so similar, the kid that played Kick-Arse would make a great Spider-Man.

          Great flick. Go rent it!

                  I watched it Friday night.

I really loved it and I will buy the DVD. It's a keeper!

I am reluctant to give away any spoilers on this so I will just say, for those who have seen it, .....how about the scene where Hit Girl bails Kick-*** out for the first time??!!!! The song was so damned cooool and his absolute horror at what he was witnessing was priceless!!! I watched that scene THREE times before continuing with the movie. It was part Tarantino (without the dialog) and part Itchy and Scratchy. Brilliant!!!!!!!

^Listen to that song again. It's an amped up version of the theme to "The Banana Splits"!!!

I want to say that I totally got what the song in that scene was, but I was trying to be very careful about spoilers.

For me, THAT was a major part of the scene.....and I knew, based on the posts in this threads, that it would appear. I just didn't know where. It didn't take away from anything for me.

I loved the film and the comic, it was a blast!
Did anyone notice that a couple of scenes had music that was originally in 2 different Danny Boyle films? It was playing on my mind while watching the film... where do I know that music from? Worked out that one track was in 28days Later and another outta Sunshine- weird!!
Must listen carefully in case 'Jai Ho' makes an appearance

I just ordered the movie on Netflix. Ethan (he's 8 years old) saw it on the list and wanted to know if I ordered the movie Kick Butt. I said it's called Kick *ss. He said he knew. He just didn't want to say it.
