    Guess Marvel's in trouble again..!

Marvel Comics depiction of anti-tax protesters inspires anger, apology - Yahoo! News

"Since 1941, Captain America has been one of the most popular comic book characters around. The fictional super-patriot fought Nazis during World War II, took on those who burned the American flag during the Vietnam era, and raked in hundreds of millions of dollars for Marvel Comics along the way. Now, the appearance that he is taking on the Tea Party Movement in a storyline about investigating white supremacists has forced Marvel to apologize for the comic hero."

Further it's reported, "The Falcon mentions that the gathering appears to be "some kind of anti-tax protest" and notes that "this whole 'hate the government' vibe isn't limited to the Watchdogs." He then tells Captain America that he doesn't think their plan will work because "I don't exactly see a black man from Harlem fitting in with a bunch of angry white folks." Captain America then explains that his plan entails sending The Falcon in among the group posing as an IRS agent under the thinking that a black government official will most certainly spark their anger."

A 'black government official'..?? Too funny..

I think what marvel meant was that since that group was a suprimist group, then they would not like a blk man. and they also do not like the government, taking their hard earned money, so there was a double wammy why falcon would be disliked, 1) he is blk 2) he was going in as a tax man. and I think that is what marvel wanted to portray, I dont think they wanted to offend anyone.
What do all of you think?

only if your comment mentions a political or religious opinion. Doesn't matter which side you are on, because there is someone here with a differing opinion that will not appreciate your comments.

                    Does that include:

history ( Spartan Trojan War) or fictional stuff? ( Jedi Midiclorine debate)

I'm often in a strange boat on that.. My wife always feels free to comment on the current administration, berrating the president, but I always have to remind her that, as a military officer, especially when we're on base, she can't make certain comments whenever she feels like it. He's my commander-in-chief. It's not censorship, just being conscientious in different situations (situational awareness).

I even had that discussion between other colonels and myself in DC this last year for a national security course I attended. You have to know when to comment. That's just my situation.., but the comments here made me think of that.

Joey Q seems the type who really feels there is no such thing as bad press. Because of this, he'll get his face back all over TV again.

Political or not, it wouldn't be the first time comics took made a real-world group the cover for an "evil organization". Everyone is just too frickin' oversensitive. Donald Trump didn't call foul on DC for making Lex Luthor a ruthless tycoon. The bar association didn't bring suit against DC for making Two-Face a former district attorney.
