[QUOTE=Raydeen1;466422]I think you're correct but I so want Cap to look like that Buscema drawing. That is Cap. Period.[/QUOTE
I second that!!!! IMO that helmet, army belt and Ultimate Cap stuff is complete crap! If the movie does go that route I'll not miss it but I sure won't be all that excited about it.
Kidding aside..., I don't think the Helmet is Crap at all,.. for something that is suppost to take place around WW2 ..., I's more So Believable in the Real World,.. , Rather than Wings and Pirate boots ..., the only thing he would be missing is a Flipp'in Sword & a Pariot.
I love the Classic Look of Cap in the Books ,.. He is my Favorite Marvel Character next to the Hulk ofcourse..., but I want absolute no Cheese in the Film.
... The Original Knight ..., Often Imitated, However Never Duplicated. The 1st Knight in Customs.
Brad Pitt certainly has the classic Steve Rodgers look. I always thought a young Robert Redford would have been a perfect fit, Brad would be my next choice, somehow doubt he would go for it though.
I do really like how functional Bryan Hitch's designs for the WW2 Ultimate Cap look. While retaining all the exxential details like the "A", Star and Stripes.
I don't mind if they paint the wings on the helmet.
Even the movie serial Captain America got rid of the wings.
I distinctly remember as a kid watching an old Canadian public television movie show called Magic Shadows, and the host Elwy Yost specifically asked Dick Purcell about the wings on the head, and he simply answered that they tried, but they kept falling or ripping off.
It's not unheard of for soldiers to paint things on their helmets is it?
Actually, I hadn't realized how much this 70s movie Cap has borrowed from Fighting American's costume design. I'm sure Simon and Kirby didn't mind though, seeing as its their design.

Simon was definitely not happy with his Captain America situation given the fact that he'd taken legal action against Marvel a couple of times (with Kirby testifying on Marvel's behalf the first time).
