Rumors are that Joseph Gordon-Levitt could be the next Joker

While I think Gordon-Levitt would make a good Joker, I hope that the character isn't used in the next movie. First, using the Joker again in the next film would only hyper actively invite comparisons with Ledger's excellent portrayal.

Secondly, Bats has a such a quality rogues gallery that I'd like them to spread the love around instead of focusing on just one villain.

I personally think Jude law would make a great Riddler......I think he has the style and Has that maniac look in his eye.....Road to Perdition anyone?

Please Oh please No Joker for a while..... but if I were to pick I like Adrien Brody who is one hell of an actor.

It is probably best they do stay away from the Joker. The next film has a lot riding on it thanks to DK, and retreading whats been seen before isnt a wise path for the franchise. If these guys want to keep the train on the track they have set this franchise on, they should stay away from the more well known villians, and use some of the lesser known, grittier villians that fit a bit better into the more "realistic" take of the current Bat films. Black Mask, Monk, maybe Hugo Strange? Penquin as a crafty crime boss would work....NOT the mutant goofball version from the Keaton film, but the character as he originally acted in the forties. Problem using Pengy, or Catwoman, or Riddler, is they all invite comparison from the million earlier appearances, and a grittier version of them may be hard to sell to an audience. Joker could slide into that part...not so sure you could do the same with, say Riddler?

What sucks for me is that even tho' I wasn't entirely satisfied by
the Ledger/Nolan Joker, I was still charmed enough to buy into
this reimagined classic character...and a lot of this reason is
beacuse i simply LOVE the JOKER on the whole.

First thing I thought of after heaing of Ledger's death was
"Dang, this is gonna put the idea of having the Joker in future
films a lot harder than if Ledger was still available."

But I WANT there to be more Joker in these movies...I can understand all
the arguments against that...they're rational enough (maybe except
the argument that no one can top Ledgers performance).

I hope the Joker makes a reappearance sooner than later.

He's hardly an "A" list character and essentially a V for Vendetta clone, but it occurs to me that Gordon-Levitt's youthfulness might be a good fit for the character Anarky.

Two Face is dead according to the script. It's very vague, but Batman tells Gordon to blame him for Two Face's death so noone will know he went crazy.

Watching the movie was like watching a long mini series all at once. Robrt Downey should have gotten that award for Tropic Thunder

Before Ledger was cast, my pick for Joker was Ben Stiller. I think he's got a dramatic break-out role within him. And, he's got those psycho eyes.

Now, upon reflection, I think batman needs a villiain that can match him blow for blow and wit for wit. He needs someone who has gadgets and weaponry to rival his own. How many times can we see him take down mobs of thugs without any trouble? I want to see a character who stands toe-to-toe with him both physically and mentally. I can think of one person.

They already made a figure of him in the movie action figure line for some odd reason. let's make it a reality. I fully realize I'm likely the only one who thinks along these lines, but to have a Riddler, Penguin or Catwoman is way too predicatable and cliche. Nolan needs to step out of conventional thinking and create a very, very deadly villain who is Batman's equal.

However, Let's really Face the Fact here..., HollyWood is Gonna Want either Joker (Again) , Catwoman as Batman's Love Interest ( Again) or a Weirdo Water Balloon , can someone Please Pop me and Relieve My Pressure Lame-O Penguin , again . With those Choices,.. I want the Riddler. I think His Gimic could play Out very Well in the Nolen Bat-Verse,.. and considering He was the Main Baddie in a little book Called Hush, that ended up being very cool, and brought a new out look to the character somewhat to me, sounds Great. Then Entertaining the Fact of perhaps a Depp Performance,.. is very interesting.

For your Non "Cliche" Villian..., Throw in someone Good Old Bat's Finally has to Match Strength with... , Obviously since ManBat and Croc have yet to be done on the Big screen,.. I feel Both characters are long over Due for the Theater's. ManBat's Story would be really cool ..., some flying Action Battles,.. Croc ,.. some High Powered Street Fights,.. sewer fights... ACTION !!!!

I don't see where He is needed in the 3rd Film personally.
Also ,.. I am tired of Constant Love Interests in Batman..., this Movie doesn't need that crap, Nore does every Flipp'in Super Hero Movie. Why does every Script ever Written for a Super Hero Movie = Pussywhipped ? .... We don't need that in everything, do we ? I wanna see a Comicbook Movie,.. with out the Chick Flick Drama Attached.

I agree with you on Batman staying for kids. I liked Dark Knight and all, but I was really tormented by seeing the dark direction they have taken the franchise as a whole. We took away the comic from kids, and now the movies. Pretty soon, someone will do a Batman cartoon thats too tough for kids as well and the transformation will be complete.
