Rumors are that Joseph Gordon-Levitt could be the next Joker

Joseph Gordon Levitt will appear in Christopher Nolan's latest film, "Inception."

The word is that Nolan is not only highly impressed by Gordon-Levitt...but he was also taken back on how closely he resembles the late Heath Ledger...

I don't know how close to the truth this all is...and even if the Joker will be part of the third Batman installment...but I for one...LOVE the idea.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt not only looks the part...but IMO...he's the BEST young American actor working in films today...I love everything he's been on...even in that horrible G.I Joe movie...he was the ONLY good thing in that whole fiasco.

A Photoshop interpretation of Gordon-Levitt as the Joker...lol...

In case some of you (like Mike) might not be too familiar with Gordon-Levitt...

I highly recommend you go and rent Brick...he's great in it...and that movie simply kicks arse...it's slowly becoming a cult classic...

Well he couldn't possibly do any worse than Ledger did.

Though I have my doubts Nolan will even end up doing another Batman.

Bale has to rebuild his reputation and his version of Batman has become such a parody it might be best to just let the series lay dormant for a while again.

          You got to be joking...

          Dormant for a while?

With a worldwide take of $1,001,921,825??? That's a BILLION dollars, you know.

          These are the movies...you know...$$$...

The Dark Knight is the BEST Batman movie of all times...and Heath Ledger poops all over Jack Nicholson's Joker.

Here...let me remind you of real parody...a puny Batman with arms and shoulders the size of Dakota Fanning...and a FAT Joker...

It's one of my all time "favorite" pictures...that's why I use it often...lol...

Just because something makes a billion dollars doesn't mean it should have a sequel. Plus once it's a billion dolla rfranchice you get a ton more chefs in the kitchen, which if the Superman franchise has taught us anything, means it could get stalled in production hell for decades. Not that the movie would have made half that if a certain someone hadn't ODed.

Anyway, I liked Dark Knight, it's not in my top Batman flicks, but the bloom is off the Dark Knight now. It's turned into pop culture parody. Just look around, everyone laughs at Bale's ridiculous Batman. It's turned into a running gag. Say what you will about the Keaton years, but they never became a parody so easily has "howlin' Bale" and his cohorts.

            And your pic doesn't work.

Although that's not the reason I don't suspect we'll see a new Batman anytime soon. Christian Bale isn't a box office guarntee anymore, Nolan can't be bothered with bats and anyone else who gets the part will be crapped on by the fanboys. I'm sure you're right, there is money to be made so WB will probably crank out another flick, whih I also have no problem with. Personally I think Levitt would probably do a better job than Ledger, but they shouldn't just hire him because he looks like the actor. They should hire someone that looks like the Joker and can act. Which Levitt could bring to the role, but hiring him based on his resemblance to Ledger alone would be a mistake.

Like I said, I liked Dark Knight well enough, but it's easily one of the most overrated movies of all time and everyone involved from the late Ledger to Bale and Nolan are overrated as a result of it.

The problem with everyone seeing a movie like that through such rose colored glasses, is if another movie does make it out, it's almost guarnteed to get sucked into the void created by Dark Knight. Unless Joseph Gordon Levitt becomes a huge star (unlikely) and a massive heartthrob (also unlikely) and then ODs while the film is in post production and then the box office can be inflated by Emos and daft girls mourning the loss of such a great actor.

If one of those dorks from Twilight dies after the filming of the next movie it'll probably make 100 Billion dollars. It's all relative.

But I'm glad you love it so much. Kudos to you. It's just slightly better than Batman Forever in my view.

The Dark Knight totally rocked and Ledger was phenomenal in it.
If you don't like it that's your prerogative, but a movie that made that kind of movie will surely get a sequel. And I don't know why you think Bale needs to rebuild his reputation. He doesn't care what people think. Besides, it's Hollywood, almost everyone acts like that.
If Joker's gonna be in the third Nolan Batman movie Gordon-Levitt is an excellent choice to replace Ledger.

My personal pick was Mark Hammil, especially if the next one was set a few years after Dark Knight, but Levitt will do. Whoever it is has some big clown shoes to fill Ledger made the Joker all his own. If I had to rank the actors playing the Joker it'd be Ledger then Hammil tied with Cesar Romero and a distant 65th place would be Nicholson.

Personally...I think they should leave the Joker out of it for awhile...because NOBODY is going to top Heath Ledger.
