That sound about right. Did Davis create Psylocke in the pages of Captain Britain? It would make sense that he'd bring his creation into the X-Universe... which might have made one of his first Marvel jobs the New Mutants annual where she got those Bionic Mojoworld Eyes that broadcasted the X-men's adventures?
Before his work on Batman and the Outsiders, he would have been doing Captain Britain for Marvel UK and Marvelman for Quality.Comment

I think Barr had some issues with O'Neil too. O'Neil was reportedly not happy with Barr's "Son of the Demon", and Batman and Talia's lovechild, so he deemed the whole thing out of canon. There was apparently some tension there, which is why Barr left after Davis did.
They did come over from BATO. Davis took over the regular title when Aparo left to start the direct-only version.

Dick Giordano was the editor on "Son of the Demon" but wasn't O'Neil Batman group editor back then? I would think this would have been flown under his nose for some sort of approval? Or maybe the group editor thing came later?I think Barr had some issues with O'Neil too. O'Neil was reportedly not happy with Barr's "Son of the Demon", and Batman and Talia's lovechild, so he deemed the whole thing out of canon. I think O'Neil also un-retconned the whole Year Two story later on as well, because of the angle with Joe Chill.Think OUTSIDE the Box! For the BEST in Repro & Custom Packaging!Comment

Around that time, didn't O'Neil write a short Batman origin that appeared in the Secret Origins trade paperback that stated the murder of Batman's parents was never solved?
Although Barr did get to come back to write the Reaper sequel Full Circle, as well as Bride of the Demon, which were in fact edited by O'Neil!
Barr does sorta kinda get the last laugh in the end given the fact that "The Reaper" does get immortalized as "Phantasm" in the first theatrical animated Batman movie.
Was O'Neil's beef regarding Son of the Demon stem from that fact that Ras Al Ghul and Talia were his creations?Last edited by samurainoir; Jan 3, '10, 6:46 PM.Comment

I thought the recent Holmes mini (published by IDW? I'm not sure.) was very well done and in the style of what Doyle wrote.
And on the Batman question, I think (I'm going from a foggy memory on interviews here) that it was thought that Batman having a son was problematic, not stemming from O'Neil's creation of Ras or Talia.
I guess that Barr didn't have as much juice then as Morrison does now.
