That's been my main gripe with Ross is his Photo use....He does use an enormous amount of photo reference.....an although it looks great how many times are the same type of poses being used??? I've seen him painting holding his Pics......but really an accomplished artist always needing to work from Pics?? Same Worms eye views, same upward flying poses. He seems not to be able just to do anything without photos......

My understanding is that there was some issues surrounding how his Earth X/Universe x/Paradise X franchise was handled by the incoming new regime of Marvel during that period. Dynamite brokered his return to Marvel and I believe that they serve to package the Alex Ross driven Marvel stuff in a similar way that WildStorm and Extreme packaged the Heroes Reborn books or Event Comics packaged Marvel Knights prior to Joe Q's ascension to Marvel EIC.

As far as why he does so much work for Dynamite, I would imagine that his creative control and profit participation would be much greater on the various Project Superpowers comics than his Work For Hire at DC or Marvel.

^ Yeah I checked on that and apparently Avengers/Invaders was PUBLISHED by Dynamite Entertainment even though the characters were Marvels....or something like that.

And what was the problem with his X-Universe stuff? I thought he and Jim Krueger had complete control over what they were doing?

The incoming regime of Jemas/Joe Q pulled the plug on it. Paradise X was not properly concluded as Ross/Krueger originally intended it to, and the next Earth X series following Paradise X that had already been green-lit was abandoned as well.

I totally agree. I thought we grew out of the gratuitous crotch shots and big boobs era?
