The Batman 1966 movie. Costuming was accurate to the comics and they didn't muck up any origins to fit the movie.

Ditto! My absolute all-time fave! The shark and bomb segments are classic.

          2nd place, Superman 1 & 2.

You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

Without question, Superman:The Movie. It's not perfect, no, but the epic feel and the sincerity of the treatment of the character was the first time the true power of a comic book character was put across in other media.

Sam Jones or Buster Crabbe? The Buster serials were great and very faithful to the Raymond strips.

I'm going to go with Superman: The Movie.

While I think there are some hidden gems, they were, to me, seriously lacking in budget... to the point that the half-arsed-ness can be distracting. They have their charm, but they can be hard to take at moments. Superman: The Movie stands apart as the first attempt to make the best movie that could possibly be made instead of making something to cash in on a Comic/TV show fad.

I think I would have picked Batman 1989, at one point, but with time, the casting seems less "brilliant" and the Prince song bothers the crap out of me (among many other things, at this point). It's just too damn dated to me, now. I did love it like crazy when it came out, though.
