GL is pretty much the green flame in human form
Don't worry, the JSA is probably safe for another ten or so years.

Then you'll open up a comic book and find out they were never apart of World War II and they had their first run in the 70s (like the Smallville show is attempting to do on their lame show.).

DC holds nothing sacred. Your Alan Scott Green Lantern will be a man of the funky 70s; and his legacy will be the Vietnam war and standing up against the evils of President Nixon. Stay tuned...

I love the JSA. My point was that since they are so ingrained in WWII they can't realistically remove them from that era and transplant them to another decade. I don't recall all the details off the top of my head but I think Ben Grimm was a WWII pilot and then they moved him to the Korean war when time marched on and probably now he was in Desert Storm or something. That's not a HUGE part of the FF's history so a little retro-continuity to keep them from aging normally works for stuff like that. Yeah, maybe if you read an FF from 1964 and then one from 1994 there might be some inconsistencies but overall they stayed the same throughout the original run. Same thing with Superboy. Just because the cars changed from Model T's to chromed 1950's Bel Airs doesn't mean the character wasn't the same.
Now the JSA is so meshed with Hitler and all that stuff that they just can't be removed from that era and still be the same characters.

The JSA of the comics only has three active members from the WW2 days(Flash, GL and Wildcat), so its still works as the original starting point for the team and I see no reason for it to be retrofitted to Korea or Desert Storm. The current Dr. Fate, Hourman, Liberty Belle and most of the others are legacy types, so age isn't an issue.

I don't want them to (retrofit) at this point either but in the 90's they were starting to show their age. GL I can believe staying youngish and Flash can be explained as well but Wildcat should be in a retirement home at this point, LOL. I actually miss the other originals a lot and wish they were still around but that's how you get to this conversation again when trying to keep them young yet over 80 years old in reality.
I know they have said some energies, etc have kept them from aging so that'll work for the near future.

Pretty sure there was an explaination for Wildcat's vigor, too.

Yeah I just can't recall that right now either.
Either something to do with the spear of destiny energies or Ragnarok or maybe even being close to another member?
Or was he the one that has nine lives? Sometimes I get all my continuities screwed up. hahaha
I read a lot of back issues.

I got all the Marvel back issues like Spidey, Hulk, FF and Avengers....on DVD. Easy to flip through on the computer screen then searching a million books.

DC has not "officially" put out their books on DVD but I snagged a few homemade DVD copies on eBay before DC started cracking down on them.

Wildcat has nine lives. Gotta go check the DC Encyclopedia for where they came from. I know he's lost a few at this point. But it looks like they're laying the groundwork for when Ted eventually runs out of time. His son is one of the newer recruits, and is some kind of were-cat.

If that ever happens, I'll be canceling my JSA subscription. "Tom-Cat" is not a favorite character of mine.

I kinda like the character. Of course I liked the Yolanda Montez Wildcat, too!

I think they are planning on spinning off some of the younger ones into their own series though, so you may not have to worry about that.

Not me. When she bit the dust I never shed a tear.

                              Ted Grant is irreplaceable.
